Summary

Description
English: Replica of a Curtiss 1910 Pusher at Terminal 1-Lindbergh, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Minnesota. N28CD, Serial Number: 1, Model: MR 1.

Plaque next to this aircraft reads:

"The aircraft you see on display is a replica of a 1910 Curtis Pusher. This replica was built in 1964, was featured in 1966 movie "The Great Race" and later purchased and rebuilt by Mr. Chuck Doyle the legendary Minnesota Aviation Pioneer and retired Northwest Airlines Captain.

It was last flown on June 16, 1986 at this airport by Mr. Doyle who, in a rare lapse of good judgment, convinced then novice Airport Director, Tim Anderson, to allow one take-off and one landing on the grassy area next to runway 11R/29L. Having barely survived this ordeal, Mr. Doyle wisely decided to turn the Pusher into a static display rather than give the aircraft another chance to do the same to him.

Mr. Doyle graciously loaned his aircraft to the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) in celebration of the 86th anniversary of the first flight of this model of the Curtis Pusher, which occurred at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on June 22, 1910. It was in the spirit of aviation tradition that on this July 5, 1996 the MAC proudly displays this Curtiss Pusher replica for the public's enjoyment."
