File:Coat of arms of Heraldry itself.svg

Original file(SVG file, nominally 600 × 660 pixels, file size: 3 KB)

Summary

Description
English: The coat of arms of heraldry itself, according to one fanciful tradition. Note that this technically violates the heraldic "rule of tincture" (but no more so than the traditional arms of the crusader kingdom of Jerusalem).
Français : Blasonnement: d'argent à six écusons posées 3-2-1, de gueules, d'or, d'azur, de sable, de sinople et de pourpre

Modification of Blason imaginaire «Héraldique».svg (based on description in book L'Art de l'héraldique au Moyen Âge, by Michel Pastoureau, éditions du Seuil, Paris, 2009 (ISBN 978-2-02-098984-8), page 194); file was changed by simplifying SVG code and removing phoney pseudo-reflective gradient required by French Wikipedia conventions.
