| Description | Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack administers the Oath of Office to former Iowa Governor Chester Culver for the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, commonly known as Farmer Mac at the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Governor Culver was nominated by President Barack Obama last summer and recently confirmed by the Senate this week. Farmer Mac was created by Congress to establish a secondary market for agricultural mortgage and rural utilities loans to increase the availability of long-term credit at stable interest rates to segments of rural America.
