Chak Jhumra, a suburb in Faisalabad has always tempted me to deviate from my usual route of travel to visit the place. The nostalgia dates back to the college days once as ardent readers of Monthly Suspense Digest, we enjoyed the narratives from the diary of Malik Safdar Hayat (a character depicted as a retired DSP revisiting his past memoirs). Malik Sahib's days of posting in Chak Jhumra brought us some fascinating stories. Blessed were the days when reading a story over a piece of snack used to make one's day.
