Chainsaw safety feature.

Chainsaw off switch.

The control switch of the saw must be in working condition, or it may not be possible to stop the saw engine. It must be clearly marked with 0 (off) and 1 (on) positions. There must be a positive click between off and on so that the switch stays where the operator has put it.

Stihl MS280C chainsaw made in 2003. Photo taken in UK, July 2005.
