Summary

Description

In 1986 a group of Australian Cricket stars visited Victoria University in Wellington to promote the installation of an artificial cricket pitch at Kelburn Park. The park is owned by Wellington City Council but has been the home of Victoria University Cricket Club since 1906. The stars were Allan Border, Craig McDermott, Bruce Reid and Geoff Marsh. We assume that the pitch was sponsored by New Zealand Post as there are images of the pitch with the New Zealand Post logo applied. Pictured here are bowlers Bruce Reid and Craig McDermott. Bruce Reid played 27 tests and 61 One Day Internationals for Australia. His last appearance was in 1992. Craig McDermott played 71 tests and 138 One Day Internationals for Australia. His last appearance was in 1996. Since retiring from playing he has had stints as an international coach and has set up an academy in Brisbane.
