English: Anthropomorphic Pot
Description
English: Large portrait jar of low-fired dark brown clay, cup-shaped elongated headdress spout, face and neck, and globular bowl. Headdress dentate-stamped with vertical and then horizontal marks, protruding perforated ears, slit eyes, scarified cheeks, flattened nose, V-shaped jaw with pointed chin. Thick neck ends in tied effect incised necklace just above the body of the pot. This lower section has incised and rounded crescent-shapes within which are dentate stamp markings. Handle from neck of head to bowl (back). CONDITION: Worn areas on headdress, which is chipped in spots. Otherwise good, exhibitable. Less interesting.
