Summary

Description
English: The interior of an R34 subway car as seen from the center aisle. This cars were ordered as part of a test train for a potential order of 400 cars that never materialized and is one of the first cars (along with the other nine from the test train) to be built for the city with a stainless steel body and finish. The cars came with many innovative features of the day, but in time, they were orphaned by the transit system and abandoned to menial shuttle duty along the Franklin Avenue Shuttle. Car 8019 is the only car that remains and is on permanent display at the New York City Transit Museum in Brooklyn Heights.
