Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society

Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) is the style granted to members of the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) on successful application.[2][3]

FellowshipEdit

As of 2016 there were around 3,800 Fellows,[1] about half being PhD-level professional scientists; a quarter postgraduate researchers or retired scientists; and the remainder amateur scientists and undergraduates.[3] Around a third of Fellows are based outside the United Kingdom.[3] Fellows are entitled to use the post-nominal letters FRAS.[3]
