History edit

Vecteezy was established in 2007 by Shawn Rubel.[3]

In 2017, Vecteezy introduced its contributor program, providing an opportunity for creators to contribute their own content to the platform. Creators globally are allowed to submit their content for consideration on Vecteezy, with the opportunity to earn income based on the volume of downloads by users.[4][5]

In 2020, the content library of the platform experienced significant expansion to incorporate stock photography. Additionally, a referral partnership was established with Getty Images' iStock, enabling the display of images through Search API results to free users on Vecteezy.[6]

In 2023, Vecteezy signed an agreement with Shutterstock,[7] as it’s premier image partner. In June 2023, Vecteezy launched a reverse image search feature powered by AI technology, allowing users to find licensable media that matches an input image.[8][9]

Operations edit

Operating on a freemium model, Vecteezy allows users to freely access a substantial portion of its content. Additionally, users have the option to purchase subscriptions or credits, granting them full access to the entire content library along with enhanced licensing capabilities and other valuable benefits.[10]
