Leroy D. Valliant (18__– March 4, 1913)[1][2][3] was a justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri from 1899 to 1912.[4]
"Valliant, Leroy B., former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri, died March 4 at Greenville, Miss., aged eighty-four years. He was elected a member of the state Supreme Court in 1898 and served continuously for almost fourteen years".[1]
"Ex-judge Leroy B. Valliant, who retired from the bench of the supreme court of this state on January 1, 1913 passed away Monday at Greenville, Miss. Judge Valliant waa elected to the bench of tbe supreme court in 1898 to fill out an unexpired term and was reelected for a full term in 1902".[2]
Leroy B Valliant, former chief justice of the Missouri supreme court, died recently at Greenville Miss where he first began the practice of law. He was 74 years old. The former supreme court judge went to Greenville recently for his health which had been critical for two weeks before his death. He died of bronchial trouble. Judge Valliant was a circuit judge in St. Louis two terms before going to Jefferson City in 1898 for a place on the supreme bench. He was a Democrat and a Confederate war veteran.[3]
