Comment: The article is not bad on basics (but should have more on production, for example), and carries a long list of mid-level awards relevant to this type of short. But it still does not meet the standard of general notability - we need some strong secondary coverage, not mentions on lists, or in reviews in less prominent sources. As it stands it would be more appropriate as a section in a wider article. SeoR (talk) 22:18, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
Comment: IMDb is a user-generated source and almost never considered reliable. If it cites its sources, consider using those instead. Rusalkii (talk) 05:12, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
Comment: Another review like Indie Short Mag would show notability under WP:NFO#1, if there's evidence the film was widely released, but these film festivals awards are not substantial contributors to notability. — Bilorv (talk) 11:42, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Johann Friedrich and his Jewish wife Anna have a so-called mixed marriage. In 1940s Germany, Johann's role in the war separates him from her and his child. Due to the mixed marriage status Anna is considered a privileged Jew, and hopes she will be spared from deportation. However, subjected to increasing humiliation, and desperate because of her loneliness, Anna commits suicide. When Anna's letters stop arriving Johann fears a previous flirtation has distracted her, and nothing will be the same again. Once he is home, Johann escapes into an illusionary world where time has stood still. This is where he fights his own demons and tries to cope with his pain.[citation needed]

Critical receptionEdit
Will Conrad from Indyred writes in his review: ""A Father's Job" is not only done well – it's done exceptionally well. The actual presentation of this film looks and sounds as good as any of its big-budget counterparts I've seen in recent years, and the fact that the story itself is a good one definitely doesn't hurt. A great film relies on all the parts, from pre-production to post, to work well, and yes, reader, Frank Christian Wagner's flick hits all the right bells."[4]
Film Threat summarized its rating (8/10) with: "…Think the final reveal of The Usual Suspects, but more poetic and haunting."[5]
Indie Short Mag rated the movie with a 4.9 out of 5 score.[6]
Rotten Tomatoes approved critic Richard Propes of The Independent Critic gave the movie 3.5 out of 4 and writes in his conclusion: ""A Father's Job" is a strong narrative debut for Wagner and one can only hope he continues down this cinematic road."[7]
