Cuixmala is located on the Pacific Ocean, on Mexico's Costalegre, also known as the Virgin Coast, set in 30,000 acres of UNESCO Biosphere reserve.

Cuixmala was originally designed by Robert Couturier, and was the private tropical hideaway for tycoon Sir James Goldsmith. It is now one of the worlds leading eco-travel destinations. Its notable guests have included Bill Gates, Mick Jagger, Tom Cruise, George Lucas, and Madonna.[1]

Hurricane Patricia, the most powerful hurricane to ever form in the Western Hemisphere, made landfall in Cuixmala.[2]
