Chiara Ferragni (Italian pronunciation: [ˈkjaːra ferˈraɲɲi]; born 7 May 1987) is an Italian blogger, businesswoman, fashion designer, and model who has collaborated with fashion and beauty brands[1][2] through her blog The Blonde Salad.[3] In September 2017, Ferragni was ranked first on the Forbes "Top Fashion Influencers" list.[4]

Ferragni was born in Cremona in 1987.[5] She started her fashion blog "The Blonde Salad" in October 2009, with a former boyfriend, Riccardo Pozzoli.[6] At the age of 16 was chosen by the Beatrice agency in Milan, Italy. Ferragni modeled for the agency for a couple of years and then stopped: due to "other goals to reach in my life" she says.[7]
In March 2011, New York introduced her as "One of the biggest breakout street-style stars of the year".[8] In December 2011, she was profiled as the Blogger of the Moment in Teen Vogue, while still a law student at Bocconi University.[9] She has not obtained her University degree.[10] By that time Ferragni's blog had reached more than one million unique visitors and 12 million views per month.[citation needed] By 2013, she had won various blogger of the year recognition.[11] In December 2013, she published an Italian language eBook, under The Blonde Salad.[12]
Ferragni modelled for Guess in a November 2013 shoot that was subsequently marketed as an ad campaign.[13] In December 2013 she collaborated with Steve Madden to design a 9-shoe collection for Spring 2014.[14]
Her television credits include the Italian TRL Awards as a presenter, and a guest appearance on the Italian variety show Chiambretti Night.[15][16] Ferragni walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in conjunction with the premiere of We Have a Pope (then titled Habemus Papam).[17] She also appeared on Project Runway as a guest judge during season 13 in August 2014.[18]
Her business ventures grossed about $8 million (mostly from her Chiara Ferragni Collection footwear) in 2014.[19]
In January 2015, her blog and shoe line, Chiara Ferragni Collection, became a case study at Harvard Business School.[20] In March, Ferragni was selected for the cover of the April 2015 Vogue España, making her the first fashion blogger to appear on any Vogue cover.[21] Since then she has appeared on over 50 fashion magazines covers. In January 2016, Pantene announced Ferragni was its new global ambassador.[22] Mattel Inc. created a Barbie version of Ferragni in September 2016, one wearing a white T-shirt, black leather jacket, jeans and Chiara Ferragni Collection shoes and the other wearing a head to toe Chanel look.[23]
As of 31 July 2017[update], Ferragni had 10 million followers on Instagram. Because of her broad following, she was able to earn about $12,000 for a sponsored post to Instagram.[24]
In 2017, Ferragni was chosen to design costumes for the 4th edition of Intimissimi on ice.[25][26] On 26 July 2017, she opened her first Chiara Ferragni Collection store in Milan.[27] In May 2018, Footwear News named her one of "the most influential moms in the fashion industry".[28]
In April 2021, Ferragni joined the Board of Directors of Tod's Group.[29][30]
In May 2021, Ferragni unveiled the Nespresso x Chiara Ferragni collection on her social media. A temporary pop-up cafe was set up in celebration of the capsule.[31]

On 7 September 2014, she won a Bloglovin' Award for the third consecutive year for her blog.[32] Her blog was named the Best Personal Style blog.[33] She was also one of the first bloggers to cover an American Magazine, Chiara appeared on Lucky magazine alongside Nicole Warrne and Zanita Whittington.[34] In 2011, the famous New York Magazine named Ferragni, " One of the Biggest Breakout Street-Style Stars of the Year" [35]
Since 2013 she has been listed in Business of Fashion's 500 most influential fashion people.[36] In 2015, Ferragni won the Bloglovin' Award for Blogger of the Year.[37]
In 2015 Ferragni was listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30.[38] In 2016 Pantene named her its global ambassador and also gave her a Footwear News Achievement Award.[39]
Personal lifeEdit
Ferragni is the oldest daughter of three girls, daughters of a dentist from the northern city of Cremona. Her mother Marina Di Guardo is an Italian writer from Sicily who also worked as deputy director of the Blumarine fashion house.[40][41] Chiara Ferragni's net worth is estimated to be 19 million euros from the income of her three companies.[42]
Ferragni and Italian rapper Federico Lucia, known as Fedez, started dating in late 2016 and got married on 1 September 2018 in Noto, Sicily.[43] They have two children, Leone (born 19 March 2018 in West Hollywood, California) and Vittoria (born 23 March 2021 in Milan).[44][45]
They live between Milan and Los Angeles.[46]
Ferragni and her husband raised €3 million in 24 hours through a fundraiser to support the San Raffaele hospital in Milan during the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy.[47]
