Notes edit

Is there any desire for a Category to be established that would cater to "Bed and Breakfasts"? --MyWikiBiz 16:26, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, we already have Category:Bed and breakfasts. Chongkian (talk) 00:30, 22 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Are statues monuments? edit

I started removing some statues from subcats of this category thinking that they are definitely not non-building structures. Am I incorrect? Firefangledfeathers (talk) 12:39, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Firefangledfeathers, Statues are structures. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:20, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Seems User:MagicatthemovieS agrees based on a recent edit as well. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:20, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I just got an edit conflict while pinging you both. Thanks for doing that. Firefangledfeathers (talk) 13:22, 26 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think the onus is on me for this one, so here goes: going off what's at nonbuilding structures, I don't believe a statue like Fearless Girl is a "body or system of connected parts used to support a load". Is a statue used to support a load?
As a counterargument, the structure article includes 'monument' as an example. I would argue that some types of monuments clearly count as structures (Taj Mahal, mega-statues like Christ the King (Almada) and some types are very clearly not structures (benchmarks, gravestones).
Separate from the "is it a structure" argument there's the issue of "is it verifiably a structure"? Per WP:CATDEF, we categorize pages by defining characteristics that "reliable sources commonly and consistently define the subject as having". @Another Believer and MagicatthemovieS:, trying to refresh this stale conversation. Anything further to add? Firefangledfeathers (talk) 17:35, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
