Articles relating to the advent, a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. This novelty in the preparations for Christmas was reportedly established by Perpetuus, the Bishop of Tours, c. 480. Different dates for the advent are used in different liturgical traditions, but they typically fall between November 11 and December 24.
