C. V. Mathew is a bishop of the St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India. He was the presiding bishop of the St. Thomas Evangelical Church of India from 2008[1] until his retirement on December 31, 2018.[2][3] His area of specialization was in a Christian response to Hindu fundamentalism

During a stint at the Union Biblical Seminary, Pune, Mathew's students included Jonadob Nathaniel, the current director of translations of the Bible Society of India and B. Samuel Raja Sekhar, the current auxiliary secretary of the Bible Society of India Andhra Pradesh Auxiliary.[5]
