Al-Mamun (Urdu: المامون) is the first biographical work of Shibli Nomani. It discussed the biography of the Abbasid Caliph Al-Ma'mun. It was first published in 1887. The second edition was published from Aligarh in 1889. Syed Ahmad Khan made a three page forward for this book. It was published in two volumes. Among the Abbasid rulers, Mamunur Rashid, son of Caliph Harun al-Rashid, was one of the famous caliphs. In this book, the author has tried to analyze his life and work objectively.[1][2]
