Fair use rationale for Madman Muntz
edit *It is believed that the use of this image on the English-language Wikipedia to illustrate the person(s) depicted falls under the "Non-profit educational" clause of the Fair Use doctrine currently upheld by United States law. (17 U.S.C. § 107) *It is unlikely that a freely-licensed image suitable for illustrating the subject performing his unique "Madman" persona will be found, owing to the nature of the subject's career in early television (unlikely that there are any freely-licensed images taken during this period, depicting the subject in the role of "Madman" Muntz actually behaving like an insane person on air), and one cannot be created as the subject is deceased. This photograph is necessary to establish how Muntz portrayed himself and a simple written description is insufficient in depicting the persona. As such, the photograph can be reasonably described as "irreplaceable". *Owing to the limited web-resolution of the image, the image is of low screen resolution (72dpi). *For the same reasons, the copyrighted work used is of inherently lower quality than the original, reducing the risk of competitiveness and therefore the effects of this copy on the market for or value of versions held by the owner of the copyright.
