WikiProject Report: History

WikiProject History is a WikiProject dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of any topic related to history. Its project page originally served as a general discussion forum for ideas on the style guidelines for articles within the project's scope. Currently, it has 74 members. In addition, any editors that are members of any of the history WikiProject's subprojects are also considered to be members.

The project was also recently expanded into wikibooks:Wikibooks:WikiProject History.

Project coordination

Serving as points-of-contact for any issues with the History project and taking care of the administrative and procedural aspects of the effort, the project's coordinators are Phoenix-wiki (talk · contribs) and Wandalstouring (talk · contribs). The project hopes that there will be an election for new project coordinators when it gains enough members.

Departments

  • The assessment department rates unassessed historical articles and rates them on the project's quality and importance scales.
  • The collaboration department organizes large efforts by multiple editors to improve historical articles.
  • The project's review department carries out peer reviews of historical articles. It also carries out A-Class and Top-Class reviews on articles within WikiProject History's scope.
  • The outreach department is a central location for reaching out to project members through welcome banners, newsletters, etc.
