These map standards should be used for creating new maps to be displayed in the article's infobox. There will be some variance between states/territories, based on route marking schemes in use. There is not a set standard for maps used elsewhere in articles (generally for a localised area where features other than roads are shown); however, following a similar colour scheme would allow for consistency between articles.
Note: Sizes in pixels are based on a map width of 700px. Line widths are relative values for GIS/vector data, and can be adjusted as long as the ratios remain the same. 1/10th of the value (eg 0.6 instead of 6) often works well.
Regional, Statewide, and Multi-state maps edit
- Can be derived from Geoscience Australia GIS data (2004) [CC-BY-AU]. New roads can be added if a KML file exists, or from OpenStreetMap.org data (best for smaller segments, may be tedious for a long road).
