The main job of clerks is approving/rejecting requests, tidying up requests, and notifying maintainers regarding new approved requests.

Template edit

Clerks have the {{RFGNClerk}} template, which is used as follows:

{{RFGNClerk|TYPE}}

There is also an optional reason parameter, if one needs to be included. It is used in the format |reason=REASON.

The TYPE is one of the following:

  • Implemented:  Y Implemented: This geonotice has now been implemented, and is running live.
  • Confirmed:  Y Confirmed: Someone from the target area has confirmed this geonotice is active and working
  • NotShowing:  N Not showing: Someone from the target area has reported the geonotice is not showing on their watchlist, even after hard reloading.
  • Note (This is used in the format {{RFGNClerk|Note|NOTE}}):   Note: NOTE
  • Moreinfo:   Note: Please provide more information. If no more information is provided in 5 days, the request will be rejected.

How to handle edit

When approving or rejecting, move the request to the appropriate section. If there are more than 1 approved request, or there is an approved request that has been waiting for implementation for over 2 days, leave a note on Gmaxwells talk page.

Once a request has been implemented, move it into the Implemented section. This should be done ASAP, so not to make it look like there are more requests waiting for implementation than there actually is. In the implented section LINK to the page. Do not keep it transcluded! This keeps the size of the page down. To simply do this, replace the {{'s and }}'s with [['s and ]]'s.

Leaving messages on the users talk page and the related project is optional, but is recommended out of courtesy. Some users will not watchlist the page.

Confirming edit

The Confirmed and NotShowing messages are used after implentation, to note if there are problems. For the notshowing, make sure to check that at least two users have reported it who are in the target area, and it still doesnt work after a hard reload and restart of the browser/PC.
