this constitution and its process and its success or failure are of vital to the future and balance of the middle east and international power. the article is currently a stub!! i'd like to see people work together to make this article strong. It should be more comprehensive, like Constitution of Afghanistan.

  • Shouldn't we wait until it becomes the Iraqi constitution and then write an article? Info on the proposed constitution should be placed into the Post-invasion Iraq, 2003–2005 article or something. But hey, that's just me. Let's see what other people have to say. • This is going to be one of the biggest news stories from now until the referendum on October 15, and the current article is little more than a stub. - SimonP 16:36, August 28, 2005 (UTC)
      • KNewman, we can't sit and wait for it to pass before we write about this proposed constitution. it might not ever get passed. iraq might fall into a civil war. three different groups are vying for power, and this proposed constitution is where these power struggles are currently playing out. the U.S. media is doing a terrible job at informing people what the groups are arguing over and what the proposals say. we have an opportunity here to (once again) get a thorough account of the story before the mainstream media does so. i'd write the article myself, but i'd really like to get a group of people working on it. i've never participated in a sanctioned collaboration like this. i'd like to see how the experience works. as i stated before, the success or failure of this constitution will have tremendous influence over international relations in the future. we have to opportunity to document it as it happens. • I think having a good article on this topic in the next week or two would be a major score for Wikipedia. A lot of people are going to come here looking for this information. -- Beland 03:06, 30 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is precisely the sort of article that Wikipedia can excel at.--Pharos 05:12, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
