Veterinary College, Mathura

      Veterinary College (official name: Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan) is fourth veterinary university in India, located in the city of Mathura. The college was established in 1947 by Govt of U.P. and it is Asia's first veterinary college which awarded Veterinary science degree.

      From its starts to now it saw many changes from a small building and hostel to a very big campus.Now many other allied courses also starts here like Biotechnology, fisheries science. This college gave a huge number of scientists and contribution to the veterinary field to the world. Many Sub species of Salmonella like S. goverdhan, S. mathurae and mycoplasma sps.

      This is one of the few veterinary college in India which offers horse riding to their students. College has a very rich departments e.g. Microbiology, Surgery, Gynecology, Pharmacology etc. Now Clinics department look in a new shape it has X-ray, Ultra sound facilities. Its Parasitology, Pathology and Osteology dept have a huge collection of specimens.A three story library contains a large no of books, journals and literature. College offers B. V. Sc and A.H., M. V. Sc. and PhD programme in veterinary field and B. Sc. fisheries, And Biotechnology courses.
