I was asking if your work in adding several stub tags to an article is really the right thing to do. I expected a "yes, and here's the reason" or a "no, you're right" answer. Yes, but five stub tags (and apparently seven on Gail Sheridan) is overkill. You may want to discuss it here. There's no use in adding stub tags to articles only to have them reverted by others as excessive. OzLawyer 12:46, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

If it was only issued in 1888 (when the Giants beat the St. Louis Browns) maybe it was a one-shot thing that the author either didn't know about or didn't see fit to comment on. Regarding Bill McGunnigle, it looks pretty good, an interesting story of an early, successful pitcher and manager whose careers were twice cut short due to accidents. One thing I want to point out is a subtlety about the pitching distance. 50 feet was the front line of a "pitcher's box" from within which the pitcher had to release the ball. Since 1993 the pitcher has had to toe the rubber, which is 60 feet 6 inches away. But if you think about the release point of a modern pitch, it is much closer to home plate, maybe 53 feet, depending on the pitcher's full extension. If you're pitching from within a box 50 feet away, your release point is going to be, at closest, maybe 48 feet, something like that. So the difference in the pitching distance was not quite as dramatic as it might seem. Wahkeenah 12:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

The writeup on the Chronicle-Telegraph Cup is a much-needed fill-in explaining that one-time championship which has been largely ignored. Some would argue it was a "gimmick", an exhibition, and the same charge has been leveled against every post-season playoff, including the 1903 "World Series", prior to the official, league-sanctioned World Series that began in 1905. One possible subtlety about the American League club that was formed to replace the Baltimore Orioles (19th century): the ballpark they had to use. It seems the new Washington club was forced to use a temporary ballpark, a different site than the older Griffith Stadium site, until the leagues made peace and the National League yielded its rights to that site. I wonder if, in 1901, the same thing happened in Baltimore? Were the new Orioles also prevented from using the Union Park site, and thus forced to go to the previous site? Or was Union Park gone by then anyway? By 1903 it would have been moot, since part of the peace settlement was to move the Baltimore club to New York, and the new minor league Orioles stayed put rather than maybe trying to resurrect Union Park. I've ben trying to find some one to ask advice about Resolution (settlement). Since you marked it for deletion I just wanted to ask a question. I am Disambiguating the Resolution page and some pages that link to it do not seem to have a good place to redirect to. Literary element links to the page and far as I can tell no Resolution page makes sense to link to. It seems either 1. struct-stubs

Hi Woodshed - good work on the stub sorting. One small point, though - if you're tagging a building, don't give it both struct-stub and a country-geo-stub - just give it a country-struct-stub (a lot of countries have their own struct-stubs now, and buildings aren't usually classed as geo-stubs). You are correct that we normally do not make separate articles for elementary schools and junior highschools, and instead make articles on the district.mentioning the individual schools. But part of the point of this is that we normally leave redirects from the previous articles on the schools to the district, rather than delete them altogether. In the context of List of Chinook Jargon placenames, there's no real way to dab it other than directly to the article it's attached to; the meaning is given in the lede of the dab page, really it's a definition page too. Stubs

Well done for attacking the huge list of stubs to be sorted. I keep an eye on those starting with "P", and those misfiled under "The ", and pick off a few others which look interesting (especially ones which have a disambiguation term, to check whether they've got the right incoming link from a hatnote or dab page, and some of the ones which obviously need a DEFAULTSORT 'cos they're filed by forename), but I've lost some of my past enthusiasm for working through the whole lot, especially when it's 700+! I tend to pick off an Indian village and spend ages tidying up the stub.

I've used AWB a couple of times recently, to look for (a) those which already have a stub template (searching for "-stub}}"), and (b) those which are probably a dab page (searching for "refer to"), to try to reduce the enormous list.

I wondered who was working on them these days, so put RVA Football Club on my watchlist last night as you seem to be working up from the bottom! And good detailed stub-types too, not just {{bio-stub}} etc. Thanks for all your work. PamD 08:58, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Your actions here are disruptive, despite me posting to both the article talk page (at the time of the removal of the section) and your talk page after your first revert pointing that out, you have made no attempt to discuss this with me. If you had claimed that it was covered by WP:CALC, I would have pointed out that does not cover taking results from multiple tournaments and combining them into a rank as has been done at the article in a way that no other RS have done before. What WP:CALC would cover is taking a source that combined the results from the '07, '09 and '10 tournaments and then a WP editor adding in the results of the '12 in the same way. Secondly the burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material that is you. So you should either provide that source or the information should be removed until one can be found. CFP and undue weight

As you know, the neutral point of view policy requires us to acknowledge all significant viewpoints within articles. As the sanctioning body does not officially select a national champion, it is up to third-parties to designate them. It is, in my opinion, undue to refer to the winner of the "championship game" as the national champion unless they earn the title through at least 2 of the 3 major methods (AP poll, Coaches' Poll, CFP) cited by reliable sources to determine the title, because they are all based off the opinions of varying parties, and once in a while, they may actually disagree. Thomas Harris and interviews

Hello. I saw that you removed the info that Thomas Harris didn’t give any interviews between 1976 and 2019 from his page because you had a problem with the citation. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to handle citations, but I could show you some of the sources that mention the fact that, until 2019, his last interview was in 1976. I think it’s very interesting and important information, the fact that he never gave any interviews for the Lecter novels, and it really should be on his page. Could you please help me out with adding the necessary citations?
