See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.

{unblock|I understand that I need to change the username, please change it to michael0202. I don't agree that the article is spam (as confirmed by Orangemike's removal of the db-spam tag), it is, however, an article I'm still working on by editing the tone and adding further 3rd party sources -- that's why I placed it on my userpage}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Spam in User:Whitestein/Whitestein Information Technology Group edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on User:Whitestein/Whitestein Information Technology Group, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because User:Whitestein/Whitestein Information Technology Group is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting User:Whitestein/Whitestein Information Technology Group, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Unblock request edit

You don't seem to be trying to harm the encyclopaedia, and (the COI page aside) I don't have a problem giving Sandstein the thumbs-up for unblocking you. However, I think your article was slightly promotional in tone. And, because of your username, it appeared you had a conflict of interest when you created it—further adding to the issue. I'd say about 75-80% of spam articles are created by a user who has the same name as the company title/person's name. (That didn't influence the block or the speedy tag, but it made it all the more likely that you were a spam account.) As long as you make sure you review WP:SPAM, WP:COI, and WP:CSD, I think you'll be fine. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 04:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC).Reply
