Vivekananda referencing

I have done a few reference formatting, changing to Harvnb style. Redtigersxyz said to do the same using sfn format. Please have a look at India, the article uses sfn consistently, lading to a nice consistent look at "Citations" section. If you can work on this, Vivekananda article would also look very consistent and nice, and that would be a great step towards GA or eventual FA.

Also, another user has commented on the "Vivekananda and science" subsection in the talk page. You can actually remove the section, as advised in the talk page. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 22:17, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Template:Panipuri

  The Content Creativity Barnstar
Thanks for creating the new Food WikiLove template Template:Panipuri, and for all of your efforts to improve the encyclopedia. Northamerica1000(talk) 00:21, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Re: A little panipuri for you

I added my message after a pipe {{subst:Panipuri|My message here}} and signed at the end using the four tildes... but I'm guessing you already knew that much ;). Are you saying that you would like the template to automatically sign with the sender's signature even if they don't add it manually?  -- WikHead (talk) 15:54, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

Yes! Exactly! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 16:07, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
At the moment, I'm not really 100% sure how to do that, but if it was a template I created myself, I think I'd want to avoid that step to help prevent a user-signature from accidentally appearing twice. You might want to take a look at Template:Smile for further ideas, as it appears to include some additional signature options.  -- WikHead (talk) 16:38, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

More on Vivekananda

First, thanks a ton for the barnstar. I am getting some of those after years!!

Next, I really liked your to-do list! I myself have been in a mess on to-do lists always. My lists are more fatty and usually run months in future.

Finally, regarding the article Swami Vivekananda, I am streamlining the refs. After the first round (going through all the refs superficially at least once, and turning most of them to Harvnb), we'll do the second round (turning web refs to Harvnb or sfn) and third round (even more streamlining to increase the aesthetic appeal; plan is to group the quotes together under "Notes" section so as to make "Citations" section more clutter-free). Meanwhile, you can concentrate on content enhancement (as suggested in talk page). Regards, and thanks again...--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:14, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Barnstar

Thanks very much! I'm not a magician, sadly, although I do own a pointy hat... Glad I could help, if you need any assistance in future, drop me a line. Yunshui  09:44, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

When I discovered the "Show preview" button

I noticed you'd made a lot of changes to your user page, and it reminded me of the way I used to edit – after trying something, I clicked "Save page" to have a look at it. All my unsuccessful edits were left in the history of the page.

Then I discovered the "Show preview" button, and was delighted to find that I could try out all sorts of things, see what they do, and only click "Save page" when the preview was exactly right. Forgive me if you know already, but it was a useful discovery for me, and I thought there might be a chance that it could be useful to you. Best wishes and thanks for your work on Wikipedia — Hebrides (talk) 13:04, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I generally don't use save or preview button (use <Alt>Shift><P> for preview and <Alt><Ahift><S> for save). But, yes, I have made a lot of edits in my userpage today. Removing the complete Navigation menu which has more than 8 pages linked and replacing it with a new one - was a challenging work. Thanks for your suggestion.--Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 13:41, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Bhagat Singh GA review

Wow! You are doing great review. I have not read the article, but the way you started reviewing is impressive, and detailed. You correctly pointed out Indian nationalist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. needs a reference. also, Religion Sikhism (early life) Atheism (later life) Can you explain "early life and later life" (eg. age, year) — great catch, although it might be difficult for the editors to address this. One thing I disagree with you is the presence of too many red links. Red links as such do not disfavor GAC. --Dwaipayan (talk) 14:13, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Offline barnstar!!!

I feel humbled in the offer of the book. Unfortunately I am not residing in India at present. Thanks a lot for the offer. It is so great of you.

Since there is no chance of seeing the book that you were thinking to send, may I know which book you were thinking about? I have a few books on Vivekananda at my home (in India) although I never actually read most of them.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:17, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

I have converted all book references to Harvnb format, so first round of reference review is complete. Will again address more issues on references later on.

I have started expansion of Influence. Please have a look. You can further expand on his influence in the following respects: intro of Hinduism and related spiritual staffs to the West, Indian nationalism, addressing the plight of the mass, etc. In "teaching and philosophy", more expansion needed, such as more on Advaita, more on political philosophy (? any similarity wit Marx?), any teachings on nationalism etc. I do not know much about the hardcore religious sayings of him, you can consult your books and expand. If you face any difficulty in formatting refs for your expansion work, mention the references in any format that you are comfortable with, later I can have a look.Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 04:09, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

I was just checking those edits! Yes, will work on these! --Tito Dutta (Send me a message) 04:16, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
