Elephant in the room edit

I prefer your solution to the problems 800 lb gorilla caused. I didn't quite know how to handle it; but I do understand why your edit makes the prose seem more polished. --Tenmei (talk) 23:54, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Template:Browser marketshare edit

I don't have an issue with the way you want to calculate things. The problem I corrected was purely technical - the legend under the chart should correspond to the chart ! So if you will generate new chart with new numbers - it will be perfectly fine, but we cannot show one thing in the chart and another thing in its legend. Hope that explains it ! Wikiolap (talk) 17:46, 26 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

The chart values should use the median instead of the mean. This is true for at least two reasons (1) the number of sources is small and the median is less effected by outliers (2) we have no idea how the sources created their percentages in most cases, So median results in a more accurate estimation in this case. Also the reason the median and mean where so far off was because someone messed with the numbers. I re-looked at the sources and re-calculated. The result is both the mean an median very close. Next time send me a message before you change the chart (I'm the original creator). Jdm64 (talk) 10:09, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mozilla Taiwan edit

Hi, this is Tim Chien, the current zh-TW Firefox maintainer. Thank you for creating Mozilla Taiwan page, however the information you provided was far from fact. We are not a limited liability organization nor an official affiliate to Mozilla Foundation. I am going to correct the article or requesting deletion if the content is somehow not suitable for the encyclopedia. Regards. timdream (talk) 13:54, 1 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Mozilla Taiwan edit

A tag has been placed on Mozilla Taiwan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. acid4 edit

"it is the generally available releases that the conditions are based on not the developer previews" Are you sure? "Work on Acid4 will begin when three of the four top rendering engines have builds that pass the test" It says builds, not releases. "announced after four of the top four rendering engines have announced that they have fixed all the bugs found by Acid3" Again nothing about releases. "that may happen long before all those rendering engines have been shipped in a browser somewhere" This even goes as far as to specify that final releases are not necessary. Feel free to reply here. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 13:42, 1 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay I added the newest builds' scores in addition to generally available versions' scores. I think that is fair compromise. Thorenn (talk) 15:23, 2 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

January 2010 in science listed at Redirects for discussion edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect January 2010 in science. Since you had some involvement with the January 2010 in science redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Quick question edit

Hey Thorenn,

I was looking at the Firefox edits, and you are pretty active editor (as am I). That's not really why I'm posting here... I wanted to know where you found all those cool "button" things for your user page (such as saying you are an Indo-Canadian, etc.).

Thanks, Trewyy — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trewyy (talkcontribs) 18:48, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your illustration of super-heavy launchers edit

Greetings Thorenn! I just noticed you updated the illustration of super-heavy launchers to reflect the new iteration of the BFR design. To make the picture less crowded, could you possibly remove some of the SLS variants, as I suggested a few weeks ago at Talk:Super heavy-lift launch vehicle#Illustration? Many thanks in advance. — JFG talk 09:15, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. Many thanks for your updated File:Super heavy-lift launch vehicles.png. I have noticed a size issue which makes the illustration misleading. The BFR system is 9 meters wide, so it should appear slightly wider than SLS (8.4 m) and noticeably narrower than Saturn V (10,1 m). With the current illustration, it looks much wider than both of those rockets. I suppose the proportions of the rendering are wrong, so that the BFR should be redrawn with a higher fineness ratio. Please see what you can do. — JFG talk 22:28, 26 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
Greetings Thorenn, happy 2019. I see you just updated the BFR drawing to turn it into a "shiny metal" finish. Good looking, and I see you also adjusted the diameter per my previous message. Many thanks! — JFG talk 17:31, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
