Speedy deletion nomination of NFL and Domestic Violence edit

Hello Slummdoggmillionaire,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged NFL and Domestic Violence for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Override GammaTalk 23:04, 18 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Feedback edit

Nice start to your article about Athletes and Domestic Violence. There are a few things you could do to improve the article.

  • The layout of the article does not conform to the Manual of Style. Wikipedia articles are supposed to begin with a lead section that summarizes the main points of the article, rather than setting the stage for it. More and more recently, instances of domestic violence have been displayed through society via the mistakes and crimes of athletes argues a point of view, instead of describing a phenomenon. Wikipedia articles aren't supposed to endorse any particular point of view.
  • Wikipedia is supposed to be an international encylopaedia. Don't assume that your readers know a whole lot about sports in the US. Add links - football should, at the very least, link to American football, and the term should probably be used explicitly at least initially. An abbreviation like the NCAA should be expanded the first time it is used, and preferably explained, at least in a few words.
  • More wikilinks would be helpful. Adding links to other articles helps to better integrate your article into the encyclopedia and allows readers to learn more about topics they may not be familiar with. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:34, 27 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
