License tagging for Image:Bear cubs jostling.jpeg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bear cubs jostling.jpeg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Speedy deletion of Monozygotic twins edit

A tag has been placed on Monozygotic twins, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Article exists as a redirect to twin.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Morenooso 11:44, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Rowan edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you were interested, the Wikipedia:WikiProject Molecular and Cellular Biology deals with a lot of the cell-biology articles. You also seem to be having problems with image uploads (judging from the messages above). When you upload a file you have to choose an option in the "Licensing" drop-down menu. If I can help with this, I'd be happy to deal with any questions on my talk page. All the best. TimVickers 13:56, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate images uploaded edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nobel 1944 medicine.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Nobel 1944 medicib.png. The copy called Image:Nobel 1944 medicib.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 11:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mistake edit

Rowan, I know you meant well by adding those screenshots of nobelprize.org, but it was really not a good idea. Those are going to have to be deleted.

We have rules about what counts as fair use; what you did most certainly is not included. Sorry. DS 16:06, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also, your image of the Western Blot had to be deleted for similar reasons. I'm sorry; you can't just take pictures from other people's websites for this sort of purpose. It's not permitted. DS 18:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
