List of suicides edit

  Hi. Please do not add uncited material to articles, as you did with this edit to List of suicides, as this violates Wikipedia's Verifiability policy. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, and this includes list articles, especially ones containing sensitive material like List of suicides. A discussion on this matter was held on that article's talk page years ago in which this was decided. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Hi. Thanks for your response. I believe the markup to use when you want to compose a response on your own talk page, but have it alert the person you're speaking to is to place {{ping|OTHERUSERSNAME}} at the beginning of your message (without the "nowiki" markup of course, and replacing "OTHERUSERSNAME" with the username of the person you want alerted).
Thanks for double-checking your source. I read that source beginning to end when reviewing the edits made to the article. Obviously, the quotes you provided do not make it clear that his suicide was determined to be suicide by a medical examiner or other authorities. They appear to be derived from the desire of the writer of the author to create a narrative, but that doesn't mean that the cause of death is clearly given in the article. At best, this is all speculation as to what he intended (the passage "Bergmann had found the place where he wanted to die", for example, presumes that the writer knew what Bergman "wanted", when he doesn't, any more than you and I do), and in any event, it doesn't mean that this is what actually happened.
Nonetheless, I appreciate the difficulty in finding sources that clarify such things. If a reliable source becomes available on what the authorities determined his cause of death to be, I favor adding it to the Peter Bergman case article, and the list article. I get an error page as well on Tacitus XVI.10, but not on XVI.11 (http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.02.0078%3Abook%3D16%3Achapter%3D11) or XVI.9 (http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3Atext%3A1999.02.0078%3Abook%3D16%3Achapter%3D9). Extremely weird. I also discovered a mistake I made: It should've been XVI.10-11, not just XVI.10. Because in XVI.10 Vetus' cause of death isn't mentioned and in XVI.11 Tacitus only refers to Vetus as "he" and "him".

I fixed my mistake and used another link for the Annals. Thanks for noticing/rechecking.
