Welcome to WikiProject Trains

Hello and welcome to the Trains WikiProject! Thank you for adding your name to our project membership list. Our goal is to build the most comprehensive and detailed guide to rail transport on Wikipedia. As a project member, you may add the project membership userbox to your user page if you wish.

If you haven't done so already, please add our main project page to your watchlist and take some time to review the Trains project manual of style where we have collected guidelines and suggestions on notability and style for a consistent representation of rail transport related material. If you're curious about where to start, we've gathered a few suggestions in the Trains project to do list. If you'd like to specialize in a particular area of study within rail transport, take a look at the current Trains project task forces.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the project talk page or on my talk page. Again, welcome and happy editing! Slambo (Speak) 13:05, 3 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kaaterskill Falls link

When you click on that link the top of the page is filled with ads — small, text one, but ads nonetheless. It looks to me like an attempt to increase the eyeball count and charge higher ad rates.

The information on the page itself is innocuous enough, but there's nothing there that isn't already effectively handled by the article. See the relevant section of WP:EL ... to me, that link is covered by 1, and possibly 4, 5, and 6 on that list.

I know as an established user you probably meant well. But the Catskill articles get a lot of spam of that sort. Daniel Case 04:37, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I did notice that you cleaned up that user's comment. I meant to thank you, but as I was writing originally I was interrupted and when I sat down again it was not fresh in my mind and I forgot. So, thank you for the reversions. Daniel Case 16:15, 4 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank

Thanks...
Thank you for showing your support for me in my recent RfA. Unfortunately, I was unable to earn the required consensus and did not succeed. I do hope to put in another request in a few months, once I have improved upon the concerns addressed by the rest of the participants. Your expressed trust in me will definitely help me reach that goal. Thank you again, and happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Long Break

I was taking a very long break. I was playing a lot in the summer. I didn't go anywhere extremely far, but I went to Las Vegas during the summer. I see you went to 18 different countries. I have been in United States. You also been to 29 different states. I only went to three. They are Calfiornia(where I live), Nevada, and Hawaii. What grade are you in and do you like math because you talk about your math teachers using userboxes.

Congratulations on your 7,500th edit. It's a month a way from October which is when you want to be an administrator. I might probably give you another barnstar as you reach 10,000 edits. I saw a request from Hdt83 for being an administrator a couple months ago. LADodgersAngelsfan 00:34, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I didn't know I would take a long break because I completely forgot about it during the summer. There's a secret I want to tell you. I started editing Wikipedia because my parents doesn't let me play games so whenever I edit Wikipedia, I tell them I'm doing my homework and researching. I also want to ask you want level of math you're doing (Algebra II, Pre Calculus, or Calculus). LADodgersAngelsfan 00:43, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I guess I forgot because I haven't been editing Wikipedia so long. I think you have 7,700 to 7,800 edits right now. Hope you would tell me that you got 8,000 edits soon. The game that has been distracting me from wikipedia is Marapets. I also want to tell you that I like math too. I'm in 8th grade too and like math too (I'm in Algebra II). Telling you I like math is related to Wikipedia though. I enjoy editing baseball statistical information because I really like math. How much time do you spend on Wikipedia each day and what's your rate at reverting vandalism (fast, okay, slow)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LADodgersAngelsfan (talkcontribs) 00:50, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know you're in tenth grade because of the 2010 you put in your username. I'm also in 8th grade like your sister. What are the benefits of having an e-mail address? The problem is I don't have an actual one. I don't even want to create one because I'm afraid my parents would find out. I have a game e-mail address in Marapets, but it requires signing up and stuff which wastes your time and prevents you from editing Wikipedia. The one I have is limited. No pictures and video. Only text. LADodgersAngelsfan 01:03, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Archieves

How do you create those? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LADodgersAngelsfan (talkcontribs) 01:05, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you

Thank you for updating my vandal count. Tiptoety 02:46, 7 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks / 2,000,000 articles

Thanks for telling me how to create archieves. Which article is the 2nd million article? I couldn't believe that the second million article created is on my thirteenth birthday! LADodgersAngelsfan 00:07, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Armin Meiwes

Hi, you keep reverting the article, "using TW" as the edit comment says, to versions where the victim is called "Colan Man". That's a mistake. Surely not vandalism. :-) Anyway, please tame your robot and then kindly restore the correct name yourself. Thanks. SeL 01:18, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Umm, okay, TW is not actually a robot, it seems, but a browser enhancement, I just realised I got that wrong. In any case, please either explain here what you're doing (heck, I'm German, but I didn't follow the case too closely, maybe there's something I failed to catch but searching the web hasn't led to any evidence either) or stop (and then perhaps make the necessary correction yourself). SeL 13:00, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hm, some anonymous IP is making further nonsensical changes. You seem to be busy. I've tried to get the article to some sense of normality and will watch further developments ... SeL 23:50, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks / 800th edit

Thanks for saying HB to me. Just to tell you I made a milestone on my BD too. I made 799 and this is my 800th. LADodgersAngelsfan 02:38, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

For reverting the vandalism to my talk page. Much appreciated. Gscshoyru 22:00, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Barnstar

  The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For tirelessly fighting, warning and reporting vandals at WP:AIV, I award you this barnstar. Congratulations!--U.S.A. (talk contribs) 00:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
(Sorry for the slow response. My computer and internet are going so slow) I believe it was in the end of March that I first saw you

[1]. You would make an excellent administrator, clearing out WP:AIV. Happy vandal fighting!--U.S.A. (talk contribs) 00:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, I certainly hope that I will be around editing then. Best of luck! --U.S.A. (talk contribs) 03:19, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with him. I've been checking his contribution list hundreds of times, never finding a new edit. Hopefully, he'll return one day.(And maybe even accept his nomination I've been thinking of writing a co-nom) An excellent vandalfighter who would have my full support.--U.S.A. Editing Wikipedia

You told me you had Honors classes. Don't you have a lot of homework? I wonder how you are able to make that many edits. Whenever I spend time on Wikipedia I have to sleep late. LADodgersAngelsfan 07:14, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

8000 edits

Congratulations on your 8,000th edit. All you need is 2,000 more to get to 10,000 edits. You told me about that user with that many edits. I made a little over 500 edits on April which is the most edits I made a month. I'm slow at reverting vandalism. Can you teach me some tricks. I have to copy and paste the warnings which takes a long time. Is there a faster way of doing it? LADodgersAngelsfan 05:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow! You're have contributed tirelessly to Wikipedia! Good work!--U.S.A. (talk contribs) 14:28, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

You tube links...

Thanks for checking some of these, and reverting the re-insertions where appropriate. :)

I hope you also flagging them on the You Tube side?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. You currently have 8181 edits. Thats 1,819 more to go to get 10,000. How are you going to celebrate after getting your 10,000th edit? And how are you going to celebrate after you become an admistrator during November. You told me to report it to WP:AIV, but I don't really know what I put there, so can I report it to you or another administrator first and let them do it. LADodgersAngelsfan 00:04, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the info. I just didn't know how simple it is to add the talk, contribs, etc. by the IP address or the username. I also didn't know it's a template too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LADodgersAngelsfan (talkcontribs) 00:10, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I see that your request is declined for administrator right. LADodgersAngelsfan 00:14, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mainspace edits

You currently have more than 2,800 mainspace edits and Hdt83 has over 4,400 mainspace edits. Does the mainspace edits from reverting vandalism count as mainspace edits? I currently have a little over a hundred mainspace edits. The article you edited the most has 10 edits. The page I edited the most is 2007 Los Angeles Dodgers season. I have 37 edits on it. You can take a look at my stats using the toomanyedits userbox. I also like Pokemon so if I make a little more edits there I may be able to get as much as you do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LADodgersAngelsfan (talkcontribs) 00:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

How many mainspace edits do you have other than reverting vandalism. More than 80% of my mainspace edits are not reverting vandalism. Most of them goes in the 2007 baseball category. I just made 38 edits for the 2007 Los Angeles Dodgers season page. LADodgersAngelsfan 00:36, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Temporary Wikipedian userpages

Hello, I noticed in this edit you placed a "user is blocked" template on the user page after I had already deleted the user page. Well, just so you know, you don't have to place an {{indefblocked}} tag on a user page if the user page was a redlink to start with. You see, that template puts user pages in Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages, and user and user talk pages listed in that category get deleted after a month or so. Acalamari 23:12, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

That's a good explanation. However, sometimes it's best to leave the user page blank to avoid giving the disruptive user any acknowledgement other than a block. Acalamari 23:45, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

8,500 edits

You're a couple edits from that milestone. :) *8,500* LADodgersAngelsfan 05:20, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Template Edits

I currently made 90 template edits. I see that you only made 36. I sometimes update the MLB standings which are divided into six divisions and templates. I updated all the templates myself about 5 times. That makes a total of 30 template edits. I also have 10+ edits in each of the Angels/Dodgers season game logs. That makes it over 50. It was fun editing the ones that wasn't updated in April. Remember I made over 500 edits in April? In late April I got trouble so I didn't make a lot of edits after that. Do you think the blocked user that vandalized our pages is a terrible way to begin editing in Wikipedia or do you think it's great way for practicing to revert vandalism? LADodgersAngelsfan 04:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Edits not including/including deleted pages

I have about 880 not counting the deleted pages. I'm currently in the 850s I guess. Thats a 150 more to get a 1,000. Before you created your account, did you practice reverting vandalism using your IP Address? You know that I created my account after a week after you did? One of my goals is to prevent you from making more than 10 times as much edits as I did. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LADodgersAngelsfan (talkcontribs) 04:49, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks again

Thanks for the award! I've blocked a few Kate McAuliffe vandal-socks, don't worry! :) Interestingly enough, I had squid last night in my dinner. Argh! Cannibalism! (Joke). :) Acalamari 23:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wow, interesting coincidence, going to school with a known sockpuppeteer/vandal. Well, if you ever see him again, ask him what he knows about the "Helen Crisson socks, as I've blocked some of them as well (they're similar to the "Kate McAuliffe" socks). Acalamari 23:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
