Regarding your comment

Hello, I'm not sure why you posted on my user page about vandalism. I don't know what I have vandalized recently. It seems like a lot of people are in this situation; perhaps you should keep it real and not worry SO much about vandalism-- because most of us don't even know what we did! Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.161.70.124 (talkcontribs)

Well, if you didn't do the vandalism (the IP is shared), then you should Log In to avoid further irrelevant warnings, or you can just ignore the ones given to you. --24.136.230.38 01:13, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question

Hello. Could you please explain how my question and request was vandalism? I sincerely tried to be nice. I am sorry if I have done something wrong. Looking forward to hearing your response! Sincerely, Grover Stevens, Victoria, British Columbia

Adding to Vandalism?

How the hell did I contribute additionally to vandalism? I pulled off text from someone who intentionally placed text cursing science that had nothing to do with annelids. Granted, I may have missed something while editing, but saying that I contributed to vandalism is extremely arrogant. Next time, try to see what people were trying to do. Any error was in good faith. I hope this is the page to create a user talk message, and if not I apologize for editing this page in error.

Vandalism warning message

You recently placed a vandalism warning template on my user page. I accidentally placed the wrong template (AfD) on the talk for the main page. I think it is fairly obvious that nominating the main page for deletion is ridiculous and obviously unintentional. I was in the process of attempting to remove this template when you issued a warning on my user page. I feel that a vandalism warning is unjust and unwarranted in this case, as the edit was an honest mistake. Ninja! 01:18, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your revert

Why not? Most likely, the arning doesn't apply to the person currently at that IP. And it's of little use to blocking administrators, as we don't block based on old warnings, and we can see evidence of serious past vandalism in the block log. Not to mention, in this case, the warning templates are completely misused and inappropriate, as we really shouldn't be giving 3 last warning templates in a row. — Rebelguys2 talk 01:38, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Done. Please remember that it is generally recommended that we substitute warning templates, like so: {{subst:uw-test1}}. Please see Wikipedia:Template substitution. Thanks. — Rebelguys2 talk 02:29, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Congratulations. Make it worthwhile. — Rebelguys2 talk 02:33, 1 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry

I was trying to find more information about the edit user boxes. Please tell me where to get the templates. 9999a9999 01:26, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fellowship of Friends page - thanks

Hi NHRHS2010, thank you for advising me on undoing edits. Actually, the FoF page has been protected by REDVERS because of an edit war. All editors are now talking nicely in the Talk page and the temperature is cooling down. Thanks again. Mario Fantoni 03:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Edit Statistics

Hi NHRHS2010, can you please tell me where to get to find the information of the number of edits I made? I am very interested in those kind of statistics and I enjoy the way you put the which edit you made on each one, for example, like 1;10;25;50;100;200;300;400;500;600... 1000 ... etc. I want to know how you can keep track of it, so I wouldn't have a tough time if I wanted to do something similar to that. Thank you.55555five55555 07:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

He also did that to me here: [1]. At least he didn't try to impersonate another user. I reported that guy to WP:AIV because this isn't the first time he has been going around posting fake warnings. -- Hdt83 Chat 19:58, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

My talk page

I AM that user, and a mod already told me it was fine for me to delete content on my own page. Two individuals "Not a Dog" and "Obscure80" have been somewhat stalking me all over Wiki, harassing me and leaving comments on my talk page, despite my constantly asking them to stop. One is a troll who is out to cause trouble for me because he got banned from a forum I'm a member of and support the admin of, while the other makes false accusations and likes to pretend he is staff here. I'm sick of dealing with offensive their comments, so I said I would keep deleting them, rather than let them slander me.67.163.193.239 20:15, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

And calling me a physco is not slander? heh Not a dog 20:17, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You see? Proof. He is stalking me all over the place. If that is not psychotic, I do not know what is.67.163.193.239 20:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Defending myself from your personal attacks is not stalking. Not a dog 20:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Stop lying about me 67.163.193.239, the only reason I go where you post is because you keep lying. I'm not mad because I got banned (unfairly, but I won't bring that up here) it's because you harass people and insist on your site being advertised, while deleting your competition. That is the lowest of the pathetic if you ask me <_< Obscure80 20:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

On Wikipedia it is very easy to track people's contributions. And when you go around reporting them and attacking them it is natural for them to track your contributions, not psychotic. Tim w. 20:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not a Dog, I only stated that you were making false accusations and acting like you are a mod, both of which you have done. Obscure, I did not delete any competition, the site is not mine, and I have harassed no one, unlike you. You both kept posting on my talk page after you were asked to stop, so no one is at fault but yourselves. It IS psychotic, given that they both refuse to stop because they think I'm someone else.67.163.193.239 20:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

RE:Essjay Impersonators

Admins really do need to place {{indef}} on the page of the blocked user, in that case.  ~Step trip 23:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I know, and all of the users that I reported to AIV were indef blocked, thus requiring the {{indefblockeduser}} template.  ~Step trip 00:13, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't mean to say that I want users who were blocked long ago to get the aforesaid template placed on their page now, however, I do mean to say that the template should have been on the page since the block. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding.  ~Step trip 00:30, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
When I say "users", I am referring to the users whom I reported at AIV on the grounds of inflammatory Essjay username impersonation (i.e. the ones that started this conversation).  ~Step trip 01:00, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

blocked users

When you report a user to AIV, and an admin reponds by blocking the user, it is preferable if you allow the blocking admin - me, in this instance - to insert the message on the blocked user's talk page.--Anthony.bradbury 10:43, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Adding "User blocked" message

Hi NHRHS2010 - I was wondering why you inserted this User blocked message? Isn't that something an admin would do? Just wondering. --EarthPerson 03:51, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, Anthony.bradbury already mentioned that here, and it seems that the concern was not addressed. NHRHS2010, could you explain your use of blocking templates in place of the blocking admin? Leebo T/C 03:54, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

RfA nomination

Hi NHRHS2010, please don't add RfA nominations to WP:RFA until the nominee has answered the standard questions and formally accepted the nomination. It appears that User:Jim Douglas may not even be aware that he's been nominated yet. Ive removed the nomination for the time being. Thanks, Gwernol 23:34, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You don't need to blank the nomination or remove the message to Jim Douglas. Just wait until Jim has read your message. If he decides to accept the nomination, he'll then answer the questions and sign his acceptance. Once he has done this you can add the nomination to the page WP:RFA. You can see full details of the process at Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. Gwernol 23:47, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reverting Vandalism

When you revert vandalism on someones page can you just change it on the user page or tell the user about it and let them change it? Based on the rules changing something on someone's user page is vandalism, but is it considered vandalism if you change something by reverting vandalism on someone's page? 55555five55555 09:54, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

FoF page - need help with sockpuppetry

Hi NHRHS2010, sorry to bother you again, but I need you help. Today REDVERS, the Administrator that is watching the Fellowship of Friends page, left me the following message:

Hi, Mario. On the talk page of Fellowship of Friends, I offered Wikipedia's best way for how to resolve these disputes (basically WP:RS); sadly, this was basically ignored and very obvious sockpuppetry was resorted to instead, by people who held the high ground in the dispute. This led to the page being unprotected at your request and the edit war kicking off again, as it would when underhand methods are being used.

I wrote to REDVERS but he didn't reply to me. Do you know how can I find out who the sock pupeteers are based on this and this? Thanks a lot! Mario Fantoni 05:27, 10 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Slight text distortion

Hello, I noticed your user page has some minor text distortion, beside your userboxes, so you may wish to fix it by moving it down a few lines, or by reordering things on your page. I recommend using a few more breaks (br's). :)

Jim Douglas's RfA

Hello, I noticed that you have nominated Jim Douglas for adminship, and I just wanted to point out that I have recently nominated him for the same reason as you did, and he declined, certain that it would not be confirmed. Chances are, I think that will stand for a while, but as he keeps up his great work, and many other users in addition to you and me prove his prediction wrong, I think he may change his mind, one day, but not any time soon, probroly.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 00:05, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

He may still decide to accept now in April. You are more than welcome to still try it, if you disagreee that he won't accept. I don't see anything that's changed from February to now, that would raise the chances in him accepting.--U.S.A.U.S.A.U.S.A. (talk) 00:18, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

uh hi, I'm User:67.164.35.55 (sorry if my grammer is terrible, I'm am not good at Language Arts). I'm sorry about the vandalism, I thought that by delecting content on Template:Final Fantasy [2]series (which I accidently delectly Others on template and since the rest of the text I delected didn't need to be included (they are minor links) ) and Boktai[3] (which I the Django section was already in the article Characters in the Boktai series) would be ok and I didn't want that to in my talk page (I never read about Wikipedia's rule on Vandalism or the rest of their rules). and I guess my temper got a hold of me, please forgive me. so I hope you'll read this so you will understand my forgiveness. Warning removals IS allowed

Regarding your recent comments on User_talk:67.164.35.55. It appears you are mistaken in your understanding of the permissability of removing warning messages by a user from thier talk page. While many people do not like removals, there are several strong arugments for why it should be allowed, as a result there is no consensus to prohibit the removal. See WP:USER and Wikipedia:Centralized_discussion/Removing_warnings. Your posts suggest that the user is violating a policy for which they may receive punishment. There is no policy saying this. I would encourage you to be more careful when commenting on warning removal. Thanks -- Monty845 03:37, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Ahering@cogeco.ca

I had the same question as you, about the username being inappropriete because of it looking like an email address. I think it would be the best idea to ask a third opinion on someone who would be an expert on that department, and not report the user to the WP:AIV.--U.S.A. cubed 03:49, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • There was a policy cutoff point where email addresses as usernames were verboten. I can't remember the date - have to look through WP:U edit history - but usernames created before that are actually allowed - Alison 03:55, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
