Blues edit

On 3 Sept you added to blues the following:

Other influences on rock and roll are often cited, especially country music and R&B. It is more accurate to say, however, from a musical perspective, that artists in these musical subgroups adapted blues structure and harmony to their distinctive styles, accents, and vocabularies.

Another editor has not understood what you meant and has changed it to:

Other influences of the blues are often cited, especially country music and R&B. It is more accurate to say, however, from a musical perspective, that artists in these musical subgroups adapted blues structure and harmony to their distinctive styles, accents, and vocabularies.

Perhaps you would like to reword it to reinstate your intended meaning but making the paragraph easier to understand. cheers. Nurg 05:50, 26 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Dachshund edit

Thanks for your additions to the Dachshund articles. Could you identify the source(s) for the statements about the popularity of the breed in the U.S. and in NYC specifically so that we can have a "Reference" section listing the source? Thanks. Elf | Talk 16:46, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contributing to nutrition! edit

Thanks! edit

Hey, I just wanted to drop you a note thanking you for your vote (even though it's against me!). But I appreciate that somebody read my points, and took them into consideration. Thanks! --Hyphen5 00:14, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tip of the day project update edit

Just trying to get things better organized around there. Toward that end, I've created a task list template for the project. If all the contributors to the project placed it on their user page, we could all keep in touch more easily (with announcements, alerts, etc.). It, and the latest announcements can be found at:

Re:Oranges edit

I'm sorry you're feeling a bit offended, but you shouldn't get too frustrated at it. Yes, I basically just cut out all your work, but this is Wikipedia. Anything you type in can be changed or removed. Also, just because it's valid info, does not mean it should go in that particular section. While reading it, I interpreted the description as an variety that belongs to a very specific region. There are probably hundreds of varieties of oranges out there, and we can't list everything. Giving a small list of the most common varieties seen throughout the world is the starting point. This isn't a US centric Wikipedia. We can't apply some sort of bias at all. This is a fundamental policy. - Zero1328

Affiche rouge edit

Hello Apollo! You might want to review, if you have some time, my recent NPOVing and copy-editing of the Affiche rouge and correct any mistakes or insert any comments, critical or not. Regards, Tazmaniacs 15:57, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chewco edit

I was reading Chewco, and there's a sentence of yours that doesn't parse:

Additionally, as investors became more wary of Chewco, Michael Kopper, an Enron employee who reported to CFO Andrew Fastow.

There must be something missing there. Evercat 23:50, 9 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Corrected it and expanded the article. Thanks for the heads-up. Apollo 16:56, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Tracy middendorf.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Tracy middendorf.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Winslet attitudes.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Winslet attitudes.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:17, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

File:Castine tugboat.jpg missing description details edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Castine tugboat.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:57, 25 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

A useful article. As it goes back to Roman times and is mostly not to do with the UK, I'm wondering what we can do about the title. Would you be happy with History of taxation in Britain? Moonraker2 (talk) 01:40, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for August 14 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mammon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Albert Barnes (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
