Generosity on hold edit

I see the latest appeal from Jimmy Wales. Five or more years ago (I think), I did in fact put in several hundred dollars towards Wikipedia.

Since then, however, I was involved in a conflict with Cirt. This has been somewhat resolved, and I've made a few edits which as far as I can tell have been uncontentious.

However, my conflict with Cirt made me re-appraise my relationship to Wikipedia. I continue to see it as a worthy source of information, one I have added to here and there. But my good feeling towards it no longer goes as far as making donations.

I still see Cirt's behaviour as unwarranted, unfair and innapropriate.

If I receive a full apology from Cirt, I will reconsider donating to Wikipedia as I did before. But any appeals by Jimmy Wales will have no effect before then.

I do not expect many to read this. But I make this statement for the record, and for my own internal moral peace.Part of me would like to donate to Wikipedia. This is, however, trumped by other concerns. JohnAugust (talk) 21:47, 8 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
