Please sync this script (with active users, in a blocked user's userspace) with DannyS712's maintained fork at User:DannyS712/copyvio-check.js. — The Earwig (talk) 05:34, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@The Earwig Hmmm, I don't like this. Think I'd rather disable this script and tell those users to move on - maintaining personal userscripts of blocked users is a bit much.... — xaosflux Talk 10:19, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Can user scripts be redirected? That might be a decent option here. –Novem Linguae (talk) 11:07, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Novem Linguae @The Earwig as a matter of principle, I object to redirecting user scripts to other users' forks (though I think I've supported this in the past) as a security risk - users that trusted the original creator might not trust the new developer. (Though I think I can be trusted...). Perhaps replace with an `alert()` call that the script is deprecated, and remove the rest? Just disabling it without a way to inform the users might not be the best. --DannyS712 (talk) 23:52, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@DannyS712 @The Earwig perhaps we comment out, replace the first line with:
mw.notify('The script you are importing, User:FR30799386/copyvio-check.js, has been deprecated. A forked replacement is available at https://w.wiki/4vAP')
At least for a bit? — xaosflux Talk 09:17, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Xaosflux, that sounds fine to me. — The Earwig (talk) 22:35, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Done-ish. I added the popup; {{re|Earwig} (or anyone) after a few weeks reactivate the edit request and we can just disabled the rest of the script as well. — xaosflux Talk 23:21, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
For blocked users' userscripts, they are not maintained (if blocked by checkusers or arbcom), should we add a warning in every block or add a warning in ScriptInstaller as the main user is indefinitely blocked? Thingofme (talk) 02:45, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
