At least at the German Wikipedia content that is not "free" should not be linked to in the Weblinks section, so as the IMDB page seemed mainly "pro" to me I thought it was a rather bad idea to link to it. Trams in Vienna

In answer to your question, a substantial portion of the readers of articles like this one are native English speakers who don't speak any other languages at all, and are planning a trip to the place the article is about. For people like that, it is often helpful to know, eg, that the German word for "tramway" is "Straßenbahn", and even that the German word for "Vienna" is "Wien". 19th century

Hello, thank you for your interest in name information in the Slovenian articles (e.g., here). I added the phrase "in the 19th century" to most of them as a copy-paste addition; the sources cited may be 19th-century (e.g., Intelligenzblatt zur Laibacher Zeitung, 1849) but are also often 20th-century (e.g., Leksikon občin ..., 1909) and in general these standard German names are found in sources from the 18th century to the mid-20th century or even later. It was therefore my error to refer to them as "19th-century names" because this implies that they were not used in other centuries. R service of ÖBB are not "hoaxes"

Hello, you recently reverted my edit on Wien Meidling railway station. ÖBB operates Regional (R) services around Vienna (and in other parts of Austria too). The numbers of the R services can be seen on VOR site map or on any map one buys in Vienna of the transport system. I am curious to know why you thought it was a "hoax". Thank you. @Central Data Bank: I've restored your version. However, I don't think creating articles for railway services like these Rs ÖBB never even uses itself and S-Bahn lines, instead, I would suggest creating articles for railway lines (like the German Wikipedia does): So maybe rather include the R500/900 information in Southern Railway (Austria) and rewrite the S45 (Vienna) article to Vortortelinie (de). Concerning Tunceli province

I note your "warning" here. I am very concerned that you would be issuing a "warning" to anyone about an edit made 10 months before. That's not appropriate at the best of times, and may well reignite a dispute that had long since been resolved. In fact, removing the comment from the page was all that was needed, and you had already done that quite appropriately. Please don't go about warning people for things that were done more than a day or so ago; it's very rare that it's appropriate after a longer period has passed. If you feel it is something that absolutely must be addressed, please write out your concern using your own words instead of relying on a template that usually does not adequately address the issue. I personally don't agree with WP:DTTR and think that as the edit was clearly disruptive its revert did not "deserve" a hand-written explanation. The "dropping warning" is just an autocomplete edit summary I use when leaving db or uw notes.    FDMS  4    22:17, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

It didn't deserve a template, either, certainly not months after the fact. Warnings are only appropriate to stop ongoing behaviour that is problematic, and there was no ongoing behaviour here. I'd suggest to you that it's probably not best practice to be using automated "click a tab" warnings in situations where you're not addressing an edit concurrent to its being posted (which was obvious in this case as there were newer sections on the page) and yes, I do think it's reasonable that editors be sure of when an edit was posted before giving any kind of warning in relation to it. It was obviously not a disruptive edit; it didn't affect any discussions on the page, nobody responded to it, and apparently nobody else who edited or read the page in the intervening 10 months thought it was problematic enough even to revert it. I have no issue with you choosing to revert it, just to be clear; it's a perfectly reasonable action, and anyone can revert an off-topic edit from any article talk page. Yes, I shouldn't have made that edit to his talkpage and yes, I should have checked the section's creation date. However, it was not obvious that the section has been added more than a month ago (it was the fifth most recent edit to the talkpage when I checked its history), and I don't think it's inappropriate to leave uw notes about edits made, say, 29 days ago. In my eyes, the main purpose of uw templates is to inform users about certain policies and standards so a lack of policy knowledge is not a valid excuse for violating them again in the future. Question on Category:Commons category with page title different than on Wikidata

I agree on your revert https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ashland/63rd_station&diff=prev&oldid=796649146 on Ashland/63rd station but then (at least according to my understanding the Category:Commons category with page title different than on Wikidata is quite useless. Indeed after your revert the page Ashland/63rd station is listed in this maintenance category despite the fact that the underlying software will continue to display the correct link to commons in the article.

@Anomalocaris: ⎇ + spacebar is the keyboard combo for nbsps on the default (British) macOS keyboard – not 100% about this, but when I created a custom keyboard layout on Windows a while ago, I think the Windows Keyboard Layout Creator let me define such a combo as well. Unlike macOS, however, Windows sadly doesn't appear to understand the difference between nbsps and normal spaces when it saves them in the clipboard. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
