The Red Tent edit

Hi. I saw you made reference to this book on numerous pages. I'm not sure if one 20th century novel is notable enough against the 3000 years of other cultural references, so I removed most of them. JFW | T@lk 09:12, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Request for edit summary edit

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:30, 1 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Voyager edit

Please stop adding this insignificant and irrelevant one-liner section to language articles. Thanks. --Ragib 17:30, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is your final warning. Please refrain from adding this irrelevant information to the language related articles. --Ragib 17:33, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your suggestion. I do not consider the information irrelevant or insignificant, and respectfully decline your suggestion. Elendil's Heir.

You are adding a lot of nonsense. For example, Voyager obviously didn't contain any message in Hittite language. Adding nonsense to articles is considered vandalism, and next time you add this to an article, you will be blocked from editing. Thanks. --Ragib 17:45, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to the Wikipedia page for Voyager Golden Record, which I did not write, the records do indeed contain greetings in that tongue, and the 54 others listed. Do you have the power to block me from editing? By whose authority? Elendil's Heir.

I retract the comment on the Hittite language, but basically, my point remains the same. You are adding a very insignificant bit of information to an alphabetical list of language pages, in many cases in the most irrelevant manner. Please do not add insignificant content indiscriminately like this. Thank you. --Ragib 17:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see now that you're a Wiki administrator; the designation is tucked up under the Bangladeshi flag on your page, and I didn't see it before. I don't think the fact that a language appears on the Voyager records is "very insignificant" or worthy of deletion, and wish to contest your opinion that it is. If there is an appeals or referral process, please begin it. Thank you. Elendil's Heir.

The phrasing "may outlast the Earth itself" is speculation, which is not permitted on Wikipedia. CRCulver 18:31, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well... it is speculative, but not unreasonably so, given the vastness of interstellar space and the extreme slowness (relatively speaking) of the Voyager probes. Publicity by NASA at the time of the probes' launches noted the likelihood that they would still be traveling through space even after the Sun expands and then dies. EH.

Suggestion edit

Ok, how about this: you can add the information (and not the speculation) as a single sentence saying This language was included in Voyager Golden Record sent along with the Voyager Probe to outer space. The fact by itself does not require a whole section or subsection and can be summed up in a succinct manner as shown here. Of course, this doesn't mean the sentence is fit to be added to the intro para, which should always note only the most important information about a language. This, certainly, is a minor bit of information. --Ragib 19:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

That seems reasonable. I'd suggest a slight change: "This language was included on the Voyager Golden Records, sent aboard the Voyager probes to outer space." Thanks for your help. EH.

More precisely, A message in this language was included on the Voyager Golden Records, sent aboard the Voyager probes to outer space. --Ragib 20:02, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Better still! EH.

Maybe it can be a category? --Stacey Doljack Borsody 02:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please use edit summaries edit

Hello. Please be courteous to other editors and use edit summaries when updating articles. The Mathbot tool shows your usage of edit summaries to be nonexistent:

Edit summary usage for Elendil's Heir: 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 0 minor edits in the article namespace.

Using edit summaries helps other editors quickly understand your edits, which is especially useful when you make changes to articles that are on others' watchlists. Thanks and happy editing! --Kralizec! (talk) 16:53, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry. I'll try to do better. EH

Abervan Disaster edit

Hi, I changed your article to a redirect to Aberfan. -- Gogo Dodo 04:45, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but a search for "Abervan" (as the town's name is frequently spelled in English texts, such as Jeffrey Archer's "First Among Equals," still does not lead the reader to "Aberfan." That's why I set it up that way. I'll try it again. EH

U.S. federal government edit

Some blanking vandalism went undetected on Federal government of the United States, and I recently had to revert 8 edits or so, including yours (which appeared to be one of two legitimate edits). However, it appears that the reason information on the judicial branch was missing when you edited the page is because of the vandalism. Natalie 20:58, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just took a look at the page, and the Judiciary section is even bigger and better now - I presume because you restored the vandalized text. Well done, and thanks. EH

Valiant Shield 2007 edit

I noted that you created the article Valiant Shield on the 2006 joint exercise. It would be great if you would creat one for the 2007 exercise. — ERcheck (talk) 15:41, 20 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, but I just created the stub that someone else REALLY did a great job with. Dunno who that was. EH

Cleveland Civil War Roundtable edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Cleveland Civil War Roundtable, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Elendil's Heir! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,563 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Speedy deletion nomination of American Future Fund edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on American Future Fund requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ukexpat (talk) 16:38, 24 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I have an issue with this article. A year and a half ago I gave an idea to include a mention of the Stewards' flag in it. If I'm not mistaken, you did it (Eru bless you for that). Now I could suggest you improving the article with adding a source and changing the statement a bit. I don't have required skills myself so it's all up to you. George Anson, 1st Baron Anson edit

Hi - I notice you have added unsourced material to the article on George Anson, 1st Baron Anson. I am sure you will understand that considerable effort went into getting this article to 'B' class on the assessment scale. It is not uncommon to have articles down-graded on the assessment scale simply because another editor has added a few unsourced sentences (it has happened to me several times). So please do not add unsourced material to assesessed articles. Thanks for your understanding. Dormskirk (talk) 19:22, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's not unsourced; it's a link to another Wiki page. It is useful information, directly following other things named after Baron Anson. Please leave it in place. Thanks! EH.

Proposed deletion of Raymond Gould edit

The article Raymond Gould has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significant claim to notability, long unreferenced.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. April 2019 edit

Your recent editing history at Heinrich Himmler shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. (Hohum @) 16:51, 11 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Once again you are not heeding consensus for this article and once again have added unproven fringe material. You need to discuss this on the talk page, per WP:BRD as stated one of the last times you added this. Otherwise you run the risk of being blocked from editing. Thank you, Kierzek (talk) 17:20, 23 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I edited the article and added info from a new source, a book by a reputable publisher, not the two online sources criticized in the earlier reversions. I do not accept that just because an author of history is characterized as a "revisionist," that he or she might not have something interesting to offer. I mentioned all along that the allegations of a British execution of Himmler were unproven. Elendil's Heir
