Replaceable fair use File:Irakli Zhorzholiani.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Irakli Zhorzholiani.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 13:27, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Iadgari of Mikael Modrekili, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Georgian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Georgian help needed

edit

Hello Deu, I'm contacting you because we need some Georgian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on ka.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Georgian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 17:34, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Helios Energy Georgia

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Helios Energy Georgia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  // Timothy :: talk  14:18, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
  Hello, Deu. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 15:49, 30 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Deb. Thanks for the explanation. First of all, I would like to say that I have never received a compensation for my contributions to Wikimedia projects. Also, I am neither an employee, nor an employer, nor do I have any direct business contact with the company about which I wrote the article. My only connection with this company is that I also live in Georgia, where it operates and is quite famous. I admire the activities of this company, only as a citizen of Georgia. Maybe because of my positive attitude the article appeared to be subjectively written. But I do not think the article was an unambiguous advertisement or promotion. In my view, the article contained minimal objective information about the company, which was verified by authoritative independent sources. Among them was the official website of the Parliament of Georgia and the Georgian Public Broadcaster, a non-profit public media. I wanted to contest deletion, but could not find the button "Contest this speedy deletion" mentioned above. Is it possible to discuss article recovery anywhere? Or can I just try to rewrite the article without advertising content? And also please indicate if there is any group in the English Wikipedia that will help me to give a non-advertising form to the text because, as I mentioned, I know Wikipedia's neutrality policy (due to my considerable experience in Wikimedia projects) and still do not see ads in my text. Deu. 11:12, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I take your point and have moved it to Draft:Helios Energy Georgia where you can work on it in draft and submit for review. Please don't put it back into article space until it's had an independent review. Deb (talk) 11:31, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh, while I'm here, Ivane Nanuashvili, which I appreciate is a very old article, needs some reliable references. Deb (talk) 11:46, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot. I will take care of this article as well. Deu. 09:16, 1 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Helios Energy Georgia Logo.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Helios Energy Georgia Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:36, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
