Image Tagging Image:Fe9mapscreenshot.png edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Fe9mapscreenshot.png. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 22:28, 23 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

List of Final Fantasy designers edit

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Final Fantasy designers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:List of Final Fantasy designers. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Replaceable fair use Image:Nytimesbuilding.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Nytimesbuilding.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 18:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Gundamw.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Gundamw.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:09, 29 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:09, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem edit

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Darkhunger! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,098 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Recent edits to Zelda LCD games article edit

Hi, I noticed that in this edit your summary was "Nintendo's convention is to call all Game & Watch games "Game & Watch [TITLE]". I notice that you also changed it to "Game & Watch: [TITLE]" (with a colon) shortly afterward. I think it would be worthwhile to add a citation to the Game & Watch game's title to demonstrate Nintendo's official titling since it sounds rather counterintuitive if one assumes that the title is the same as shown on the box cover (i.e. simply "Zelda"). Do you know of a good source for this claim? -Thibbs (talk) 13:55, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Basing it on what Nintendo calls its Game & Watch games on the DSi/3DS eStore and Club Nintendo page.--Darkhunger (talk) 15:57, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
Has the Zelda title for G&W been released for DSi/3DS, though? As far as I know only 9 individual G&W titles and 3 G&W collections have been released for the DS systems and none of them feature Zelda. I can see that the trend is to (re)name the individual NDS ports as "Game & Watch: [TITLE]" [1] (and sometimes "Game & Watch™: [TITLE]" [2]) and to name the collections/Galleries as "Game & Watch [COLLECTION TITLE]" ([3], [4], [5]), but I wonder if this can be extrapolated to unported titles and also I wonder if the official name of the most recent port should be used or whether the official name of the original 1989 release would be better.
The official sources I can see being the most helpful to us would be the instruction booklet for the original G&W game, the instruction booklet for the GBA's Game & Watch Gallery 4 (which contains the only Nintendo-produced port of the G&W Zelda game that I know of), or possibly the Mini Classic version of the game (which is a licensed port). I know that the instruction manual for Game & Watch Gallery 2 describes the G&W games simply as "Ball", "Parachute", "Helmet", "Chef", "Vermin", and "Donkey Kong". That leads me to suspect that the instructions for Game & Watch Gallery 4 would describe the Zelda game simply as "Zelda". The box-art for the original game also appears to suggest that the game is simply titled "Zelda". If some sort of official source can be located to show the game to be called "Game & Watch: Zelda" (or anything different from just "Zelda" for that matter) then I think we should add it to the article as a source. Otherwise I think it should be restored to "Zelda". Does that sound reasonable? -Thibbs (talk) 17:58, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
This seems to be more of a retroactive change that Nintendo has made to reference the G&W games. Its not just the ports that are named this way. The re-release of "Game & Watch: Ball" has the same name. However, since Zelda has not been referenced this way thus far, I will change the name back on the article.--Darkhunger (talk) 20:31, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK that sounds good. I think it also might be best to retain use of the original release title in the article even if a later port is released called "Game & Watch: Zelda" but that's open for debate and it would certainly be good to discuss on the talk page either way. Speaking of which, would you mind if I copied this conversation into the article's talk page for the benefit of others? I'm sure the issue will come up again seeing as the titles do seem to be undergoing a revision by Nintendo. If not I could also just post a quick summary of what we were saying in talk. Cheers. -Thibbs (talk) 22:43, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Sorry for having acted on my own in this, but I'm worried I'll forget about this question if I delay any longer, and I'm not sure when you'll next be editing at Wikipedia. So I've written a summary of the above conversation here. Please feel free to review it or to add your thoughts if you have the time. -Thibbs (talk) 16:20, 1 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

New question on Zelda LCD games article edit

Sorry to keep bothering you like this. I appreciate your help on the Zelda LCD games article, but I am afraid I don't understand the last edit you made. When I examined the source it looked to me like all it covered was the release date for Zelda. Is that accurate? I have no reason to suspect that your claim is false (i.e. that Zelda was not only released in the Americas), but if the source doesn't actually cover that fact then I think we have to find a new one that specifically states either that G&W games were only released in Japan until 1985 or - better yet - that Zelda was not released in Japan. If possible, we should aim for a source listed at WP:VG/RS as well... Again, I don't mean to badger you. I'm not interested in challenging the claim necessarily. I just want to improve the references. If you need help sourcing this then I can try to help you as best I can. Cheers, -Thibbs (talk) 13:30, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Do you read Japanese? It says it on the source page that anything shown as "red" was not released in Japan. There are plenty of Japanese sources that delve on this subject (including the Japanese Wikipedia on this game which says the game was only released in the US), but unfortunately G&W is just not a very well documented topic in mainstream sources.--Darkhunger (talk) 13:59, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes I do read some Japanese although I'm by no means an expert at it. I see what you mean now. The text you're describing is in the lower left in small print. I also understand that G&W is not well documented as I've been struggling to find reference material for quite some time myself. One possible way to avoid WPVG's requirement for sources to come from WPVG/RS is to use self-published sources that are produced by experts in the field. If N-Capsule is an expert in the field of G&W then that's fine. I myself don't know who would be considered experts in that field since it's so narrow and under-covered so I've tried to stick to mainstream sources like Famitsu and various English-language print magazines.
Again, I should reiterate that my question was not indended as a personal challenge to your edits. I do appreciate the fact that anybody else cares enough about this article to make improvements. Most people just stick to the mainstream Zelda titles and some actually try to delete quirky articles like the one in question. My motivation for requesting better sources was really to safeguard against the argument that the article's references are worthless and that it should be deleted. If you look at the "References" subsection of the article, you'll notice that the one you added sticks out a little... But if no better refs are available then none are available. I hope you aren't taking my involvement in this as criticism. -Thibbs (talk) 14:25, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Not at all. I understand where you are coming from, and was actually going to go back and edit the reference later today so it follows the standard format. Just trying to clarify this change because it is a difficult topic to source using standard means.--Darkhunger (talk) 14:30, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your message edit

Hi. I am glad that we are able to formally speak. I never took anything personal. I am always open to collaboration and creating positive ideas. When I stated that I created the page, I never stated that I owned it, nor ever perceived it. Wikipedia is for everyone. I was addressing the point that you were making it seem like I was sequentially doing revisions to your original contributions, when I in fact initiated the article, you edited, and I continued. That is all passe. If you notice what I placed following your first edits, I did not revert, I simply tried to keep consistency with the phrasing of the topic.

My goal was not to mislead or make it seem that the stadium was being built without formal procedure. The hatnote already had the term proposal to define the whole article. I also included your information about it awaiting approval from the state under the status content. When I write, I like leaving clarity of information that defeats bias opinions. From the onset the information was neutral. But you brought to light that mentioning the condition of approval from the state is important. That is why I arranged it so it is known.

In reference to New York City, I know that it is found within the metropolitan area. The analogy you bring up of New York state and the United States is not quite right in this case, as anything outside of a state (within the 48 in the mainland) will border with another (without bringing the adjacent countries into the comparison). There are several instances where a development can be in two states. In this case it's not quite found in two cities, but two areas: the NYC area and metropolitan area. I do understand what you are saying, how it may overlap. But what I wrote was to define the location as best as possible for the site of the stadium and to affirm that it is partly in the city, within the five boroughs, as well as another area. So it is found in both the New York City area, in Queens County (the borough of Queens), in the Queens Village neighborhood, as well as in the New York metropolitan area, in Nassau County, in the Elmont neighborhood, within the border of the two sections.

I hope this clears up a few things. All the best NYCWikiKid (talk) 20:25, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Gundamzz.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Disambiguation link notification for December 8 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Mobile Suit SD Gundam, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages TV rating and Kanto. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Keeping Wikipedia Expanding Not Shrinking edit

Delete canvassing bullshit. Zeke Essiestudy (talk) 04:51, 17 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello User:Darkhunger sorry for disturbing you. The reason I am writing you is we all love Wikipedia and we want it expanding. However there is a discussion going on to delete a notable game article because of biased opinions. I saw that you edited this article: Final_Fantasy_Record_Keeper and let it stay for further expansion, update and keep growing Wikipedia. But I am also totally agree with you to let articles stay for improvements and expand Wikipedia. So I believe you are a neutral, professional, objective and who believes in expanding Wikipedia not shrinking it type of person. So I would like you to check out this discussion Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/MonsterMMORPG_(2nd_nomination) and make your comment based on references it has. References are here Talk:MonsterMMORPG. Please feel free to delete my message to you after you read it. Thank you very much have a nice day.176.233.41.152 (talk) 14:28, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Citation needed edit

Hello.

Where did you see that SNK of America was created in 1981 ? You deleted the citation needed template i added a long time ago [6] about this fact, and i think it is an error. Do you have a reliable to proovethis date ?

I already explained on the talk page [7] about the SNK Gamespot article where it's said SNK of America was created in 1981.

I think you didn't read this. You should get this citation need template back online. Or could you show me reliables sources about that particular point ?

Replaceable fair use File:Ratner Nassau Coliseum.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Ratner Nassau Coliseum.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ViperSnake151  Talk  01:21, 24 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
