Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Requested username:

Request reason:

This account is for our organization Children's Aid Society aka Children's Aid. We have recently changed our name and need to update the page or do a "Move" to Children's Aid. I have been trying to "move" the Children's Aid Society page or renaming it but I have not been able to do so. Please unblock this account. Also, if you could help us with our effort to change the company name to Children's Aid. n.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children%27s_Aid_Society

Decline reason:

There's a couple of problems here. Firstly, companies, groups, organizations etc are not allowed to have Wikipedia user accounts - they're only for individuals. Secondly, you did not specify a new username where it says "new username" in this unblock request.

If you want this account unblocked, you will need to make a new request that specifies a username that only represents one individual and not the organization (see Wikipedia:Username policy for guidance), and assure us that only one person will have access to this account. You would also need to read and agree to adhere to Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy described at WP:COI, which would essentially mean disclosing your connection with Children's Aid and not editing about the organization directly.

As for the rename, do you have any documentary evidence to support the change? (I'm not doubting you, but Wikipedia content needs to be based on reliable sources - see WP:RS). Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 17:26, 16 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

In regards to the name change, the organization has updated the name on their website and online channels [1]. The website is www.childrensaidnyc.org. In addition, they have released a press release that states that the organization has changed its name from Children's Aid Society or Children's Aid: Press Release: [2] In addition, I will be the sole user of this account. In addition, we will not make organization updates. I will adhere to the conflict of interest policy. This is a unique situation because of the rebrand.

Decline reason:

Technical decline as there has been no response to the suggestions below in nearly 8 days. Please make a new request which addresses them if you still wish to be unblocked. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:23, 24 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • We already have an account by the name of "Lisanyc" (all usernames automatically start upper case), so you'll have to choose another one - just edit the request above rather than making a new one (and you can use the "account availability check" link to make sure it's free). I'm heading off to bed shortly, so I'll have a look at the name change thing tomorrow. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 20:51, 16 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I've done the rename. Before someone reviews the unblock request itself, I suggest you should consider expanding it and responding to my suggestions that you should assure us that only one person will have access to this account, and that you agree to adhere to Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy.
