The Manual of Style page has a grammar error on it, but it is protected so I cannot fix it. Please, someone change the word from "unnecessarily complex wording" to "unnecessary complex wording." The best way to request this change be made is to go to Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style and click "New Section". Add this text: {{Edit protected}} followed by your request. Someone should evaluate the request and make the appropriate change.

Okay, I am goofball. I signed my last post on Talk:GNU/Linux naming controversy with a signature that doesn't validate Wikipedia's markup. How can I fix it without getting an edit conflict or does an admin have to do it? :P Blackwidowhex (talk) 00:27, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

If you received a message about having an edit conflict, it only means that you tried to edit the page at the same time as another person. Try again and it should work fine. You don't need an admin to help you. – GorillaWarfare ^{talk • contribs} 01:04, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Ahunt, you do realize that I said 'you contribute' and that I contributed to that article right? I apologize if I used the vague wording of 'you', but one can switch it with 'one contributes' and you'll get the point. Yet, I'm still not really certain how one can get uncivil using what I said. Anyways, I'll use this opportunity to say why I think your next edit is the worst.

:Do read: [1] "ESR writes "Today, following a recent dustup on the discussion list for the upcoming Open Source Summit in which he described Tim O'Reilly as ``one of the leading parisites (sic) of the free software community, Bruce Perens resigned from the board of the Open Source Initiative."

Do not forget: [2] "The company that is the co-owner of Topologi has a long-standing training business and will be providing some presenters for some Microsoft sponsored-events in 2007 in Australasia. It is highly likely that Rick will be one of the presenters on standards matters at some of these."

and [3] "At work I run Linux, Open Office, Firefox, Eclipse, etc. No drama." Why in the world would someone go into detail about operating systems and say there is no drama?

What does that mean? Since you found that article from O'Reilly, it means that the "GNU/Linux naming controversy" is a contentious issue about living people and organizations. The article should be deleted, pronto! Blackwidowhex (talk) 21:02, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

I just politely asked you to be more carefully civil in your edit summaries, that's all. Issues with the article should be taken up on the article talk page where editors watching the article can participate, not on user talk pages.
