"If you bat your head against a glass windowpane in the effort to escape the house 10,000 times, you shouldn't give up, you've simply found 10,000 places on that windowpane through which escape is impossible" -Thomas Edison, Thief, Liar, '*Animal lover*, humanitarian, and Brilliant Capitalist, described by his teacher as "addled".

"Ever considered using the door ?" -Tesla, insane scientist.

"It is not a dream, it is a simple feat of scientific electrical engineering, only expensive — blind, faint-hearted, doubting world! [...] Humanity is not yet sufficiently advanced to be willingly led by the discoverer's keen searching sense. But who knows? Perhaps it is better in this present world of ours that a revolutionary idea or invention instead of being helped and patted, be hampered and ill-treated in its adolescence — by want of means, by selfish interest, pedantry, stupidity and ignorance; that it be attacked and stifled; that it pass through bitter trials and tribulations, through the strife of commercial existence. So do we get our light. So all that was great in the past was ridiculed, condemned, combatted, suppressed — only to emerge all the more powerfully, all the more triumphantly from the struggle." – Nikola Tesla, "The Transmission of Electrical Energy Without Wires as a Means for Furthering Peace," Electrical World and Engineer, January 7, 1905.

Although there is an enormous amount of work to be done maintaining and updating the ISS article on an ongoing basis, and indeed, across all of Wikipedia Spaceflight Project, I've had difficulties coping with the poor behavior of another person, who should be setting a good example within the Wikipedia community, but refuses to use the ISS:Talkpage in a constructive manner. Such demoralizing behavior and lack of co-operation makes my work on the ISS page difficult. So I've shifted some of my efforts to open projects outside the Wikipedia community. In an application for arbitration which I initiated on June 10, the administrator Ckatz referred to the above statement on my userpage. I made a statement in the application on the Jun 11, that 'I can't see this matter reaching any conclusion that benefits Wikipedia.'

I don't expect to be motivated to continue working to make Wikipedia a better place with my former Zeal, whilst I still wish to help, I feel frustrated and unable to do so. I do hope everyone enjoys the new material I have added to this article and finds it useful and enjoyable. Penyulap talk 21:37, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

On unrelated future possible plans that have nothing to do with project spaceflight or other matters I've addressed in the past, I'm considering updating the wiki article Anal retentive which well covers the conversational and psychological meanings, but doesn't have the medical definition. According to The American Heritage Stedman's Medical Dictionary, Anal-retentive (adj) Indicates personality traits, such as meticulousness, avarice, and obstinacy, originating in habits, attitudes, or values associated with infantile pleasure in retention of feces. I think it's worth considering for inclusion in the wiki article article. Penyulap talk 18:10, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia should stop serving alcohol. Not many people like to read books in a pub, the noise and ruckus makes it hard to study and do serious work, I'm leaving, this is no library ! Wikipedia is inevitably doomed because it would take a measure of resolve to sweep all the ruckus bickering and witch-burning out the door, or a measure of reason to persuade the revelers to to take up a book and sit quietly, two measures well beyond the mettle of the structure of the 'pedia. Throw open the doors of your home, put a big flashy sign up saying party, then let the arriving strangers know they are in charge of everything. Doesn't work in real life, has never been a successful formula anywhere on the internet either, never will be, that's elemental anthropology.

After taking a break through July from editing generally, and taking a break for a month from the ISS article, which was quite nice and refreshing, and then returning to the same place with the same usual suspects, I can go back, but seriously, with the attitudes of the other editors, I can't see the point. Right now, that article is like a shoebox full of nice warm steaming dog turds. FA-Quality, wikipedia approved Dog-turds to be sure, but turds all the same.

Here is Penyulaps Rule of thumb for article quality: If a large number of editors are arriving and adding quality material to a page that's because it is not informative enough. If many editors argue and edit war, it's because the article is a crap article.

Anyhow, the break wasn't a complete waste of time, on a bright sunny note, I published one of the lovely barnstar thingys I've made. I've already promised two editors a barnstar, as thanks for their help with good honest editing. Barnstars are quite encouraging. Anyhow, I'm keeping in mind other glaring obvious mistakes in the article, which reading glasses are not always needed to find, and I'll award a barnstar to any good editor who also finds the larger ones I have in mind. Maybe it's best just to limit it to the larger ones that have also been in the article longer than I've been on wikipedia, and if it's not a given, people who are on a tag-team need not apply, as it's to encourage new and sincere editors, along with editors who use the keyboard rather than the mouse to make wikipedia better. Jupiter is nice, but thanks to a long tradition of putting idiots in charge of everything, I can't live there.

I dreamed I was editing on wiki, because I remember seeing a new animal in my Zoo, and it's not there. There is a culture which believes all reality is a dream, and dreams are the only true reality. They are right. Penyulap talk 14:10, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Well the ISS article is no longer FA quality you-know-whats. Lots of editors are doing some amazing good work on it. Cool. Plus, I understand how to solve a lot of the problems where editors are having conflicts. But the learning process on wiki sucks. It really needs to be simplified. Some decent guidance is needed, in docs. Penyulap talk 15:05, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

A wise editor invoked the image of a "Camel" (df=a horse assembled via committee). I think what happens at Wikipedia is more like the way you can get two or three editors to discuss a question and finish with 17 (wrong) answers.--Djathinkimacowboy irrelevancies
