Laboratory TA for CHA 400 (Medical Human Gross Anatomy). Duties include the assistance of medical students in the dissection of cadavers, answer questions, and general maintenance of the dissection lab.

  • Teacher’s Assistant/Laboratory Instructor University of California, Davis, CA (12/05-03/06, 12/06-03/07, 12/07-03/08)

Laboratory and lecture TA for CHA 101 (Undergraduate Human Gross Anatomy). Duties include the distribution of lecture exams and tutoring of students during office hours. Other tasks include the maintenance of the lab and the proper storage of cadavers and utensils. It is also required of the TA to attend open laboratory sessions, where the TA will tutor students and/or lead discussions with the students.

  • Human Dissection University of California, Davis, CA (04/06-08/08)

A pair of undergraduates or alumni, with a medical student underwent a dissection of a region of the human anatomy. Our group’s assignment was to dissect two human arms. The purpose of the project was to familiarize the dissectors with the human anatomy and to provide future students of CHA 101L prosections that clearly exhibits the organs of discussion.

  • First Aid/CPR Instructor Red Cross Yolo County Chapter, CA (12/05-06/07)

Teaching Basic First Aid and CPR for the Lay Person courses to the general public and staff members of the UC Davis campus. Upon the demonstration of the skills and completion of a short exam, certificates are issued or delivered on the site. In addition to providing the basic knowledge, I provide a physiological explanation of the techniques being used if prompted by the students. Thus providing a logical reason for the techniques

  • Molecular and Cellular Biology Grant Retreat University of California, Davis, CA (10/06)

A National Institutes of Health funded retreat to provide graduate students with a broad training in all aspects of molecular and cellular biology research. The training grant also funds an annual retreat and seminar program that unifies and facilitates communication among, molecular and cellular biologists on the UC Davis campus. Though I personally did not present a project, I was given an opportunity to see others and their lab’s research interest.

  • Studio Assistant V.I.P. Studios Photography, Davis, CA (01/06-07/06)

Assisting in the production room and the studio. Duties include the taking and ordering photographs from events and weddings. Imaging duties include the production of advertising flyers, and photography retouching and restoration.

  • Undergraduate Research Assistant University of California, Davis, CA (04/04-10/04)

Assisted in a research project that is determining the distribution of consumed carotenoid pigments in immunologically stressed birds. Three specimens of birds were used in the experiment to determine a relationship. Duties as an RA include the preparation of the bleaching diets and experimental diets, maintenance of the specimen rooms, and obtaining blood samples from two of the specimens.

Took inventory of stockroom supplies and distributed locker keys to students. Primary duties include checking in/out lab equipment, such as PH meters and glassware to students. Performed protocols and prepared chemicals for experiments before assigning to students. Experiments included the use of gas chromatography and infrared spectroscopy.

  • Stockroom Assistant Department of Biology, De Anza Community College, Cupertino, CA (1/03-6/03)

Assisted in developing, preparing, and improving past labs, and performed demonstrations for labs, such as class dissections and multimedia productions. Other tasks include cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing lab utensils and other materials. Made and prepared several types of biological media for class use. Experiments include the use of PCR machine and electrophoresis.

  • Distribution Assistant O’Connor Hospital, San Jose, CA (10/00-6/01)

Discharged patients to their vehicles and assisted patients to their rooms with courtesy, in addition to transporting their personal belongings. Refilled departments’ supply carts, such as sample containers and heat packs. Main duty involved providing medical supplies, on call, to nurse stations.

Assisted in setting up classroom assignments, and grading homework and exams. Helped students with problems associated with school work. Categorized, sorted, and organized students’ files, such as inputting personal information in databases. In addition to performing academic and clerical duties, other duties include sanitation and serving lunches to students and faculty.
