Tripping is a social website which connects travelers with local residents for the purpose of cultural exchange, socializing and accommodation.
Company description
Tripping was founded in 2009 by Nate Weisiger and Jen O’Neal, both former employees of StubHub.[1] It is based in San Francisco.
Tripping has a business partnership with AARP.[2]
In 2011 Quest Venture Partners invested USD 450,000 in Tripping, bringing total investment to over USD 1,000,000 in seed money and bringing Tripping out of beta version.[3]
Model
Tripping is an aggregator which allows users to search many short-term peer-to-peer rentals excluding Airbnb.[4]
