The Citadel Bulldogs football, 1990–99

The Citadel Bulldogs football teams represented The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. The program was established in 1905. Their primary rivals are Furman University and Virginia Military Institute. The games against VMI are dubbed the Military Classic of the South, referring to the two schools' status as the only remaining southern, state-supported, all-military schools.

The 1990s saw some of the Bulldogs' most successful seasons of football, with the program making its second and third appearances in the NCAA Division I Football Championship and claiming wins over higher level teams such as Arkansas, South Carolina and Army. The end of the decade, though, saw a return to mediocrity.
