Could someone fix this template into a horizontal (flat) version? This (vertical) template demands a lot of space, and if you look at the articles which has this template, it stretches the format quite a bit. It would be better if this template wouldn't be so long and demand too much space from these articles. --Balthazarduju 20:39, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Inflated titles edit

The title of each book is too long, and much longer than the actual name of the article for that book. "Canonical", "history", and "record" are repeated to no purpose. --JWB 20:57, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Secondary information edit

I think neither the number of volumes nor the author have to be presented for each book in the template. This information can be gotten by clicking through to the book, and there is little need to have it all at once in the template. Also, the information can be listed in the article Twenty-Four Histories instead of the template.

I think the Chinese names are more useful. They take up only 2-4 characters apiece, slightly shorter than the author names or number of volumes, and are useful to look up when you know the Chinese name and not the English name. However, I could go along with omitting them from the template and just having them in the article, if that is the consensus. --JWB 09:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
