current template edit

I just made quite a few changes to it and cleaned it up. Are we aiming at this being more of a "Toyota North America" template or should it be a "Toyota Motor Company" template? (similar to Template:Mitsubishi Motors vehicles) ren0talk 07:35, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think making an international template would be best since there are plenty of articles about Toyotas that were never available in the US. The Mitsubishi template looks like a good model. ~ Dusk Knight 23:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
in line with this I have added several major entries, using the List of Toyota vehicles as a source. Enigma3542002 01:12, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
It is very easy for this template to get out of date compared to List of Toyota vehicles (to which I am currently adding many older production models and older concept cars). Should I periodically update this template to match List of Toyota vehicles? Better yet, is there a way for this template to be automatically generated similar to Category:Toyota_vehicles ~ Stepho-wrs 09:07, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

header image edit

I spaced it that you can't use fair use images in templates. I'll take a photo of the front of my Celica later during the day and upload it so we have something in place as a header image. Similar to Template:Mitsubishi Motors vehicles. ren0talk 07:53, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sprinter Trueno / Corolla Levin edit

I realize the AE86 was the most well known generation, but there were other vehicles with the Sprinter Trueno and Corolla Levin names (TE27, AE101, etc.). If I'm not mistaken, they have always been part of the Corolla line, so wouldn't it be better (or at least more accurate) to link to the Corolla article? ~ Dusk Knight 04:40, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Add Toyota Wildlander in "Current cars" section. 182.30.205.236 (talk) 04:46, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Wildlander is a variant of the RAV4 for the Chinese market.
How do we handle multiple names for the same vehicle? Do we list all name variants and make the list longer? Or list each vehicle just once and have people not find their local name?  Stepho  talk  07:10, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Stepho-wrs: There are separated Highlander and Kluger examples in the template. That might just do the job. 182.30.205.236 (talk) 08:00, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
True, there a few examples in there. But I'm asking which way should we go for all of them.  Stepho  talk  10:51, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Stepho-wrs: If I have to choose, I prefer the merging of different names of the same cars because the names can differ by region. If they're separated, it may cause a confusion among the newcomers and also make this template more ineffective in conveying the information to many people. 182.30.205.236 (talk) 12:05, 1 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Question: Okay so you prefer merging different names of the same models. Your initial request is to split a name for the same model as the Highlander. So what do you want to do now? Implement or withdraw your request (I'll assume withdraw if there is no reply). {{replyto}} Can I Log In's (talk) page 04:09, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Pardon? Can I Log In's , can you clarify who you are talking to?  Stepho  talk  10:30, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure that is how you ping someone. It's {{replyto}}. To who I'm talking to, well my reply is indented for the IP adderess. For example with this reply, I'm replying to you (Stepho-wrs) and not the IP because I'm indenting my reply under your message, not the IP. {{replyto}} Can I Log In's (talk) page 17:33, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Can I Log In: I'm just giving an example of the Highlander case, which is separated. My preference is to merge all the different names of the same vehicles. *Edit: It's something like "Highlander/Kluger" and "RAV4/Wildlander". 182.30.47.65 (talk) 13:42, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Merge Toyota Allion with Toyota Premio, as both cars are essentially the same, with only differences in external design and consumer targets. The output will be something like "Premio/Allion". 182.30.12.161 (talk) 14:13, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: The Allion currecntly redirects to the Premio, so I have kept Premio as is with a link and added (Allion) following. Goldsztajn (talk) 18:52, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Good day and trust this meets you well, this template page contains some inactive links(inactive Toyota sport links to an active Toyota sport car link) and it will be my utmost pleasure to fill those inactive links with active and relevant links to this template page.

Thank you and I look forward to your positive response. AutoJosh1 (talk) 10:36, 22 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
