Equestropomorphism edit
I suspect that "equestro-" refers, not to horses, but to equestrians. As for "equestropo-", I'm puzzled (could the "-po-" come from "anthropo-"?), but as a prefix to -morphism referring to horses, something closer to the Latin word for horse, something based on "equus", perhaps, would seem to be appropriate. I've seen "equi-" used, but that doesn't seem right. Perhaps "equo-" or "equuo-" would be more in keeping with convention. 172.56.26.18 (talk) 07:37, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
The tendency edit
There are a few things I find objectionable in the following:
- "The tendency of viewing human behaviour in terms of the behaviour of animals, analogous to anthropomorphism, which views animal behaviour in human terms"
For one, "the tendency of" seems inappropriate. Also, "viewing" is too narrow, and so is "behaviour". "In terms of" says "terms" are used, which isn't necessarily true. What anthropomorphism does isn't identified correctly.
Perhaps this might be better: "The attribution of traits associated with animals to humans or other things, as anthropomorphism attributes human traits, or humanizes, non-human things." 172.56.27.49 (talk) 07:59, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
Equestropomorphism edit
I think one will have a hard time finding the term "equestropomorhism" in any dictionary. (It seems this word was especially invented for "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" since any mention of the term on the internet is always in relation to this film.) Edits and Additions edit
I have rewritten the introductory information from bullet point definitions to an actual paragraph. I left all the content that was previously on the page and added some additional information. The original sources remain with the content as well. Humans or Objects edit
currently the article, especially the lead, doesn't really say whether Zoomorphism is about people or objects, despite every single article used being common objects with some animal motifs, which barely get a mention at the end of the lead. The main article then mainly focuses on mythology and islamic art(?). The apparent disconnect between the lead, article and images should probably be addressed with a general introduction and subheading for the various kinds of Zoomorphism, with fitting images. jonas (talk) 22:41, 31 January 2024 (UTC)
