Editor 66.92.14.198 writes: "Today the neighborhood has a population of 14,124 and is over 70% African-American.[citation needed]." This is not a fact. The 2000 census showed West Oakland had a population of 19,684 and was 64% African American, 16% Latino, 9% Asian, 7% White, 4% two or more races, and less than 1% other races. See Alameda County Public Health Department Community Information Book Update 2005 at http://www.acphd.org/AXBYCZ/Admin/DataReports/2005update-westoakland.pdf. Since 2000, the population has grown, and gentrification has brought an influx of White, Asian, and Hispanic residents, while the African American population has seen a corresponding decrease. Population statistics should be accurate or not included at all. Antigonos (talk) 06:35, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't write that, user:134.39.114.152 did. They added similar unsourced (and probably false) statements to several articles. 66.92.14.198 (talk) 07:52, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
